#Grain #handling at our terminal in July was #exceptional. In practice, July is traditionally a quiet month for #bulk #cargo handling, but not this year when we reached 82,000 tones of cargo. "This July has been exceptionally positive for our terminal handling operations for bulk cargoes. We've managed an unusually high volume of grain from the previous season and started loading for the new season earlier" - noted our CEO, Julius Kirsis. J. Kiršis says he is pleased with this year's good grain harvest, which keeps the terminal's cargo handling operations running continuously. We are pleased to manage our busy schedule and provide an #efficient, #high-quality #service to all our #clients on time. #MIT #MalkuIlankosTerminal #grainseason #bulkcargo

The first half of 2024 is a record high! This 6-month loading result is the best in the #history of the MIT! In January-June, the terminal #handled more than 700,000 tones of various #cargoes, 33% increase compared to the same period in 2023. "Consistent #investment in upgrading #equipment, increasing #storage space and expanding the range of #services in response to the changing needs of our clients have all contributed to our extremely successful cargo #performance. While we are hearing many signals from the market about a slow economic recovery, we are also seeing a recovery in demand for roundwood in the #Scandinavian #markets. There is also 'half the word' about a good #grain #harvest in 2024, so we hope that the handling volumes will remain at a similar level until the end of the year," says Julius Kirsis, our CEO. Key indicators for the 6 months 2024: 👉 We handled 700,000 tones of various cargoes, 33% more than in the same period in 2023; 👉 We handled 250,000 tones of raw timber - 46% more than in the same 6 months of 2023; 👉 We handled 450 thousand tones of bulk / sovereign cargo, 27% more than in the same period of 2023; 👉 We handled 141 vessels. We continue to work together with the whole team to meet our customers' #expectations and to #efficiently manage our cargo handling processes to keep the terminal's cargo performance positive. #MIT #MalkuIlankosTerminal #resultsofhalfyear

The foundation of a #country is its people, who build it. We in Lithuania have much to be proud of - the country's first #King Mindaugas was crowned 770 years ago. Congratulations on the State Day and the National #Anthem, and Happy Name Day to our colleagues Mindaugas. Lithuania is celebrating, so let's celebrate #together! #MIT #MalkuIlankosTerminal #Lithuania #Statehoodday

Our terminal hires and #develops #young and #talented people. "Every port has #professions that are not trained by educational institutions, and one of them is data entry operator. That's why we are willing to share our #knowledge, because we have the #experience and the professionals to help us develop team members who want to excel," says our CEO Julius Kirsis. This time, we are introducing Iveta Kelnerytė, a data entry operator, also known as a #dispatcher, who started her career at our terminal and has no plans to stop. "The work of a dispatcher is intense. The specialist is responsible for issuing permits for the arrival and departure of customer transport to/from the terminal, registering the arrival and departure of heavy goods vehicles and entering other data into the system," says Iveta. We invite you to get to know Iveta and her profession. Interview link in the comments. #MIT #MalkuIlankosTerminal #career #ourteam

Our #employees have successfully completed the #Production #Leadership Academy training program! Three intensive training sessions were held with Gediminas Anužis, a lecturer from our development partner GRAND PARTNERS, Training & Consulting. During the training, middle managers strengthened their competences on how to successfully lead a production team, simulated conflict situations and sought solutions to prevent them, and paid a lot of attention to the quality of the process of introducing new employees. "Employee development is a continuous process that, by supporting and encouraging it, we create prosperity for the company as a whole, as well as for the employees themselves. That is why we pay a lot of attention to developing the #competences of our employees and to acquiring new #knowledge," says Julius Kirsis, CEO of our terminal. We believe that new knowledge and #development are the key to #success, and we continuously invest in the #professional development of our employees. #MIT #MalkuIlankosTerminal #competences

Exciting update! Proud to share our latest #investment in #sustainable #cement #delivery #solutions with our partner Heidelberg Materials Lietuva! We've acquired 16 frame tank containers to enhance cement delivery by #rail for our long-term partner. At our terminal we prioritize sustainable practices and comprehensive services for our clients' success. This new cargo delivery solution not only enhances #efficiency but also reduces carbon footprint significantly, saving 345 tons of CO2 #emissions annually. 🌍💡 According to our terminal CEO, Julius Kirsis, transporting cement containers by railways is a realistic step towards sustainability, which will contribute to reducing road congestion, as the heavy road transport flow is alleviated. For the partner, this shuttle-type cement transport method will ensure uninterrupted or interruption-free delivery from our terminal to the intermodal terminals in Kaunas and Vilnius. We constantly strive to improve service quality and adapt to our client‘s needs. This initiative is just one more step towards a greener, brighter future. Let's keep pushing boundaries and making positive impacts together! #MIT #MalkuIlankosTerminal #sustainability #innovation #greendelivery #clientsuccess

From now on, 100% of the electricity at our terminal comes from #renewable #sources. We have signed a 5-year green energy purchase agreement with Enefit Lietuva. "#Sustainability is one of the strategic objectives of our terminal and we are constantly striving to reduce carbon #emissions and implement #green #energy solutions. In doing so, we are reducing the #environmental impact of our operations and contributing to a cleaner planet for future generations," says Julius Kirsis, CEO of our terminal. According to our CEO, the terminal's electricity consumption is around 1,488 MWh per year, so choosing green energy will reduce emissions by around 700 tones. #MIT #MalkuIlankosTerminal #socialresponsability #wecare #greenenergy

Behind the smooth handling processes are the #people with whom we are building the history of the terminal. We invite you to meet Saulius Norvilas, who has been working at our terminal for 22 years since 2002, almost from the very beginning of the company's establishment, when we started handling cargo at the Klaipėdos uostas/Port of Klaipėda. Saulius specializes in operating #cargo #handling #equipment, without which the landscape of #Klaipėda as a port city is unimaginable - harbour cranes. His profession is #crane #operator. "From an early age, I saw myself working only with machinery, so it is not surprising that my profession is related to it," says Saulius Norvilas, a crane operator at our terminal. We thank Saulius for our decades-long #friendship and wish him continued energy in our work together. Interview link with Saulius N. on the subtleties, challenges and responsibilities of operating machinery in the comments. #MIT #MalkuIlankosTerminal #profession #ourteamstories
