We are Family a republié ceci
So happy to be involved with this project. As someone with a LOT of engineers in their family (including my wife) I am well aware that engineers do, in fact, make the world go round. With so many incredible opportunities for young people, please do check out the below and help spread the word.
🔎 “I didn’t know I could be an engineer!” In one of many short-talk sessions at the Future of Work in October, Obaloluwa Osundina will be sharing his career story, navigating the journey from school student to his role as a tooling and fixtures design engineer at Jaguar Land Rover UK. Two thirds (64%) of UK adults believe engineering jobs are crucial to addressing society’s biggest challenges like climate change, according to polling research commissioned by the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2023. Yet, knowledge of routes into engineering, outdated perceptions, and exposure to engineering careers, can hold back many young people from exploring the profession. With a mix of sessions guided by industry experts and young professionals, the #futureofwork conferences will give parents, students and teachers a first-hand look at high-tech manufacturing and engineering careers, explore pathways into the industry, and the future skill demand for these vital jobs. Obaloluwa Osundina’s talk can be heard at our Warwickshire conference. 🗓 Monday 14 October 2024 ⏰ 4:30pm - 8:00pm 📍 The Slate, University of Warwick, Coventry, CV4 7SH 🔗 Save your seat: https://lnkd.in/eMNJnCGV The Design & Technology Association The ERA Foundation Phil Jemmett Sophia Gibbs Will Stirling Matt Chilton WMG, University of Warwick David Greenwood Dr .Benjamin Silverstone Debora Mazzetta Yan Pugh-Jones Iqra Hamid Alex Zarifeh Sophie Young
