💡🌱 Vizulo, a Latvian LED lighting manufacturer, invested €1.5 million in acquiring and installing three cutting-edge industrial indoor lighting production machines. This strategic investment aimed to enhance the company's competitiveness in the green innovation sector. 🔌 The newly acquired equipment included a state-of-the-art automatic sheet metal laser punching machine with robotic sheet loading and sorting, a robotic system for automated luminaire wiring, and a metal sheet bending machine. ✅ Supported by the Norway Grants programme, these investments have enabled Vizulo to expand its product range with high-value, energy-efficient solutions while reducing material consumption through optimized production processes. Technological advancements enhanced product performance - delivering the same lighting level with reduced energy consumption - and contributed to CO2 savings through improved transportation logistics. 🎇 Additionally, three new industrial indoor lighting products were developed and tested as part of the project at Primekss Norge's facilities in Norway. ⚙️ SFM LATVIA, a company specializing in fabricating steel structures, has secured over half a million euros in co-financing through the Norway Grants support programme. This achievement resulted from successful participation in the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia's open competition, which focused on introducing green innovation and ICT products into manufacturing. 🎯 The project's primary goal was to establish an energy-efficient technological line to modernize the existing production processes and enhance efficiency. 🎛️🌿 In collaboration with Forberg International AS, the company introduced new, environmentally friendly, and energy-efficient Forberg products. 🌳🪑 For more than 30 years, EKJU has been crafting outdoor furniture and decorations with deep respect for nature. By using Northern European wood, they honor the unique character of each tree, infusing products with personality and preserving Latvian traditions. 🤝 With the support of the Norway Grants programme, "Business Development, Innovation and SMEs," and in partnership with the Norsk Treteknisk Institutt (Norwegian Institute of Wood Technology), EKJU was able to invest in advanced equipment to enhance production quality, increase capacity, and reduce their CO2 and MWh footprint. 📉 Significant upgrades, such as a new planer mechanization line, a high-pressure impregnation plant, and modern dryers, have enhanced the sustainability of companies' production processes. 💡 With a vision of creating a smart car with a remote-control system, getUgo found support through the Norway Grants programme "Business Development, Innovation and SMEs." Teaming up with Norwegian companies AppliedAutonomy and Herøya Industripark AS, they launched a groundbreaking project: a driverless pilot vehicle system for transport routing in industrial parks. 🚗 From the initial concept in PowerPoint to a real-world application, this collaboration has turned an ambitious dream into a tangible reality - getUgo has built a driverless pilot vehicle system for industrial use. 🛜👏 The most significant achievement through the whole project was successfully operating a vehicle from 900 km away using a 4G mobile network with just a 120-millisecond delay. 🙌 Since 2020, the Norway Grants programme "Business Development, Innovation and SMEs" has provided over EUR 13 million in funding, supporting 44 projects focused on green innovation, ICT, and welfare technologies in Latvia.
