About the Business
Marutama ramen's Creamy Chicken broth (toripai tan) is made with NO MSG and NO Imitation flavours. Best quality of this soup is from its 100% pure chicken broth prepared with a detailed cooking process, which every Marutama ramen stores prepares daily from every early morning. Like food we want to serve to all our children, we also homemade our thinned and wavy noodles that suit perfectly with the creamy broth. It is especially popular among kids because kids are used to only eat natural ingredient foods. Our homemade noodles are prepared daily with no preservatives. Marutama ramen's it's creamy, aromatic and mouth-watering flavor that has a hint of seaweed flavor comes from the AOSA, which is exported directly from Japan. AOSA is sea lettuce that is packed with protein, fiber, a variety of vitamins and minerals. It's elegant flavor suits perfectly with MARUTAMA RA-MEN's dedicated creamy chicken broth. Many customers enjoy our homemade beautifully boiled and marinated AJITAMA (soft boiled egg). Ajitama brings a savory taste to our ramen. It's freshly prepared and marinated every day onsite and with its creamy golden yolk makes it even more irresistible. MARUTAMA RA-MEN's CHA-SHU is delicately braised by many hours and marinated with our special soy base. It's very tender, juicy and packed with flavorful pork and soy umami. Above all, we want to deliver, just like our customers, Marutama ramen truly cares for the quality and authenticity flavor that everyone can safely enjoy.

This location is spacious and welcoming. Staff were friendly and provided a basket for our bags.
The food came out quickly after ordering. The broth is rich and has a light chicken flavour. Because the noodles and soup aren't very salty, they provide a salty ramen sauce you can add to your preference (caution: it's very salty so add only a few drops at a time). I enjoyed the aosa seaweed ramen which comes with a generous portion of seaweed. I recommend getting the fried garlic chips too!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 4, 2024
Ramen featuring Chicken broth, thin white ramen noodles instead of the traditional egg noodles.
The broth is a bit on the salty side but flavorful.
The staff is very good in making sure if there is any allergies in the group and ask the kitchen to clean their dishes before cooking for the person with allergies.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jun 27, 20241 check-in
A great lunch on a cold rainy day in Vancouver. The broth is chicken based instead of pork but tasty nonetheless and full of body. Noodles are thin and soft and cooked perfectly. Some other ramen places like al dented with a little more hardness but I always like my noodles soft. This place can get busy since it's small with counter seating as well as tables. Ambiance is nice spartan Japanese motif and service is very good. If you're in the area or at Stanley Park (we walked from the Aquarium), I highly recommend.

It was my first time trying chicken broth, usually ramen places around my home town only serve pork bone broth. This was for sure a new experience. The egg was perfectly made, half raw on the inside, the meat was so soft, the flavor of the chicken and meat balanced the sodium content. The seaweed that they used inside was a surprised because usually I'm used to a whole seaweed piece- this one is pieces and soaked- which was pretty good! Would come here again!

The service was really bad and the food was just okay.
We came here with a little one. Even though they have one table for 4 several tables for 2 open. They arranged us at bar table right in front of an air conditioner. The wind blew right on our back. We asked the waitress to move but she only agreed to adjust the air conditioner. Still the wind blew on our heads. We asked to move again, directly pointing the table for 4. She gave us several interesting excuses for not moving. Finally we got moved after some discussion and they behaved even poorly. The food was only just okay. California has way better ramens and service. We wish we left at the beginning.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 15, 2023
Needed to find a quick bite near the hotel and we wanted ramen after a morning hike. So we found this place in a walking distance from the hotel.
We got there and the serving staff seated us shortly. Great service, quite prompt and very welcoming. The store is roomy and airy. And I can smell the aroma from the broth.
We ordered 2 bowls of ramen: shoyu ramen and chashu ramen. Both tasted great and not too salty. Only thing I'll comment on is the thin noodles, as I prefer the option to choose a thicker noodle. However the region of the ramen is only for thin noodles. So that's all good. I like the sign that tells you how to order the texture of the noodles.
This place is a must try.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - Jul 29, 2023
We came on a rainy Monday afternoon. It wasn't busy at all. We were going to go to ramen danbo, but our Uber driver recommended this place. I'm not sure if he had an ulterior motive to go to a closer destination.
I wasn't too impressed with the ramen. The broth was a little bland.
Service was fine.
The space was cozy, nothing spectacular.
I would not return nor recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 8, 2024
Literally the creamiest ramen I've ever had in my life. Super delicious and hearty meal. Service was quick and helpful! Casual ambiance and very cute bright environment. Definitely a unique type of ramen and must try if you're in Vancouver!

Been here couple of times, first was couple years ago during pandemic, sadly their quality seemed to have gone slightly downhill, just doesn't taste quite the same as before they changed their name.
