Morocco earthquake response

The Event:

The event On September 8, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck the Moroccan Atlas Mountains, causing severe impact with over 800,000 people affected and the thousands dead.

The response:

4 days after the earthquakes, ‍monday.com’s Emergency Response Team arrived to the field to support new and existing partners. The focus was village needs assessments, medical assessment and distribution management, as data in the first few days was limited.

The impact:

In the first two weeks of using monday.com, one partner, The High Atlas Foundation created the largest needs assessment database of >240 villages, and provided >190 tons or 10,000 aid kits, to 120 villages. In addition, several other organizations and volunteer-based grassroots organizations used the ERT digital aid for medical assessment, 4W and collaboration.

Philippines Falcon Typhoon

The Event:

Typhoon Falcon, which struck the northern part of the Philippines, resulted in severe infrastructure damage and loss of life.

The response:

The monday ERT was deployed to provide support for the full operation of the national Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

The impact:

Within days, the ERT facilitated the digital transformation of PDRF teams and provided comprehensive EOC management solutions to assist PDRF’s their operations.

Enhancing humanitarian aid efforts: Introducing the monday.com ERT and KoboToolbox new Integration

We are thrilled to announce the integration between monday.com and KoboToolbox, revolutionizing data collection and management for humanitarian aid organizations. With KoboToolbox, organizations can seamlessly collect vital information from the field, even in areas with no internet connectivity, then seamlessly integrate the data with monday.com's robust online platform, enabling real-time situational reports, analysis, and reporting through advanced workflow automations and visualization tools.

KoboToolbox is an open source platform for the collection, management, and visualization of data. As the most widely used primary data collection tool in the nonprofit sector, it is the tool of choice for over 14,000 social impact organizations worldwide. In virtually every country around the world, KoboToolbox is used by organizations involved in humanitarian action, global development, environmental protection, peace-building, and human rights, as well as by public health institutes, research organizations, and education facilities. As of November 2022, KoboToolbox has more than 700,000 users globally and collects over 20 million surveys a month.

BLOG: The ERT’s efforts to help those impacted by the Morocco earthquake

monday.com’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) arrived in Morocco shortly after the earthquake to collaborate with and support local aid groups. By using the monday.com platform, the High Atlas Foundation (HAF) has created a substantial database of over 190 village’s needs and assessments, as well as delivered over 108 tons of much-needed supplies to over 4,200 households.

Having this information readily and quickly available helped CADENA make real-time decisions and appeals to donors. Within one day, CADENA received approval for purchasing relief items for children which were immediately distributed to affected communities, and have already returned to the field to distribute these items as needed.
