May 4, 2022

Early voting has started in Fulton County for the May 24, 2022 primary elections. There are 30 locations and during early voting, you can vote at any of one of the sites that is convenient. Polls are open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily, including weekend voting Saturdays and Sunday through May 20, 2022.

During early voting, absentee ballot drop boxes will be available at seven early voting locations. Drop boxes are located inside early voting locations and are only accessible during early voting hours. Note that this is new since elections reforms under SB 202 were put in place.

Please review the list of locations below and cast your ballot early to avoid any possible wait times on Election Day. On Election Day, you must vote at your assigned precinct location. EARLY VOTING LOCATIONS
REDISTRICTING

Maps can be confusing and hard to interpret. But simply put, based on the 2020 Census, states across the country drew new district lines to reflect the population of residents living in cities and counties.

What does this mean? You need to check your voter record to be sure that you know the candidates running in your district that might be newly defined, and to check your polling location. I would especially note that the Fulton County Commission Districts have changed, along with School Board, State House, State Senate and Congressional Districts. For example, the County Commission District 2 Seat that I hold was changed as it grew at a greater rate over the past decade than some other districts. This means that some residents who used to be in District 2 are now in District 1. Note that the County Commission terms are staggered and there will be an election for District 1 this year. Generally speaking, this will impact some voters in the central part of Roswell and a small number of Alpharetta voters. Go to

SAMPLE BALLOT
Before heading out to vote, please take a minute to review the ballot. As mentioned above, due to redistricting, your state and local representatives may have changed, so be sure to Know Before You Go! View a SAMPLE BALLOT
SELECTING A BALLOT IN MAY 24, 2022 PRIMARY

Georgia voters do not select a political party affiliation when they register to vote. You can choose a Democratic or Republican primary ballot. In addition to this being a partisan primary election where Democrat and Republican nominees are selected for the November election, this election also contains non-partisan general elections for school board races and various judicial offices. Note that the applicable non-partisan general election contests will appear on both the Democrat or Republican ballots.

No matter what ballot you choose, you will not be formally affiliated with that party and everyone uses the same ballot during the general election in November.

If you need more information or have questions, please feel to reach out to me or my staff. We are available to make sure that you are getting the services and response you expect from Fulton County.
