Rick Ross has further fuelled his feud with Drake after bizarrely joking Drake ‘shot his plane down’ and forced a crash landing.
Amid Kendrick Lamar and the Hotline Bling rapper’s bitter feud which has seen the musicians trading diss tracks, Ross has taken to social media to poke fun at Drake.
Ross and Drake have also previously taken shots at each other, with Drake releasing diss record Push Ups aimed at the Money In The Grave rapper, who responded with Champagne Moments shortly after.
Now, Ross has once again taken a dig at Drake after he accused the musician and his OVO crew of ‘shooting down his jet.’
Pictures posted online show Ross’ plane grounded in grass, next to what appears to be a runway. Close-up snaps show the wheels of the plane embedded in churned-up grass and mud.
‘My jet just crashed ; Drake OvO F16 fighter jet just shot us down 🔥🔥,’ Ross posted on X.
The Federal Aviation Administration later confirmed in an official statement that Ross’ jet had actually gotten stuck in the grass after landing at Arlington Municipal Airport.
The statement reads: ‘A Gulfstream G-5 business jet’s left main gear got stuck in the grass while taxiing after landing at Arlington Municipal Airport in Texas around 6:30 p.m. local time Thursday, May 2. The FAA will investigate.’
Ross later took to his Instagram Stories to double down on the bizarre joke, comparing the incident to Top Gun.
‘We on the jet and I’m seeing the fighter jet, I see its nose. It’s like Tom Cruise from Top Gun before thanking everyone for the prayers,’ he said.
‘I seen its nose. I’m seeing him in the cockpit and I’m like, ‘damn.’ I see its cheeks going back from the G-force. And then it happened, I can’t say what happened, but it happened.’
Drake released Push Ups in April, taking aim at numerous rappers including Ross in the lyric: ‘I might take your latest girl and cuff her like Ricky/Can’t believe he’s jumping in, this n***a turning 50/Every song that made it on the chart he got from Drizzy.’
Ross responded hours later with his own single, Champagne Moments, in which he called Drake a ‘white boy’ and accused the One Dance artist of having plastic surgery.
It comes as Drake and HUMBLE rapper Kendrick continue to trade insults via diss tracks amid their ongoing feud.
Last month, Kendrick featured on Metro Boomin and Future’s Euphoria which appears to be a direct response to Drake’s 2023 song First Person Shooter.
Less than 72 hours later, 6:16 in LA dropped and took even more personal shots at the singer, to which Drake responded with Family Matters, which included lyrics: ‘I’ve emptied the clip over friendlier jabs/ You mentioned my seed, now deal with his dad.’
Kendrick followed this up with Meet the Grahams, beginning the track by addressing Drake’s son Adonis, six, directly, whom the rapper shares with model Sophie Brussaux.
The rapper accused Drake of having a secret daughter on the track, something he was quick to deny in a social media post.
Drake hit back with The Heart Part 6, in which he declares he’s done with this beef, but things became more tense as Kendrick released his fourth diss track in the saga, Not Like Us, in which he accuses Drake of being a ‘certified paedophile.’
