Nadiya Bychkova has spoken out about the rumours that she has complained about Strictly Come Dancing.

Nadiya, 34, and Kai Widdrington, 28, split earlier this week and rumours soon emerged that she had complained about Strictly, the show where she first met her former partner.

It was reported by various outlets that Nadiya got in touch with Strictly bosses and claimed that she possibly ‘experienced unpleasant behaviour.’

The professional dancer has now revealed that the rumours were untrue in a post on social media and in a new update about Strictly 2024, confirmed that she can’t wait for the series to start.

‘There have been lots of Strictly rumours around in the last few days and I just wanted you to know that I have not complained about the programme.

The former couple were on tour together last month, but it appears ‘pressures’ have forced them apart, with a source claiming they were ‘blissfully in love’ until the ‘stress’ of performing the show reportedly got to them.

No third party was said to be involved, as a source told The Sun: ‘It’s heartbreaking’.

They continued: ‘Kai and Nadiya seemed like the most perfect couple and have been so, so blissfully in love.’

Kai, 28, and Nadiya, 34, met on the dancing show and confirmed their relationship in 2022.

The BBC dance competition has been scrutinized recently as It was reported that Graziano Di Prima, 30, left the BBC series following claims of ‘physical incidents’, including allegations he ‘kicked and hit’ his 2023 partner, Zara McDermott.

It was confirmed yesterday by a spokesperson that he did kick his former dance partner, while reports have emerged that a third pro dancer who used to be on the show has been named as a ‘person of interest’.

This all comes just months after another professional dancer left the show after bullying allegations.

Giovanni Pernice is under investigation after his most recent partner Amanda Abbington quit Strictly after five weeks in 2023 and claimed to have been left with PTSD. Pernice denies any wrongdoing.

The BBC has announced that they will be undergoing major changes and taking drastic action to ensure the safety of contestants this year.

‘Concerns that have arisen in recent months have been fundamentally about training and rehearsals. The actions we announce today are designed to address that,’ it was announced in a statement.

It was then detailed that the dance rehearsals will now be monitored, explaining ‘a production team member present during training room rehearsals at all times.’

There will also be new welfare roles introduced within the studio to ensure the contestants have a point of contact.
