While a judge issued a warrant for her arrest over her bankruptcy hearings, Katie Price has been off getting more cosmetic surgery in Turkey.
The former glamour model is said to be undergoing over £10,000 worth of enhancements, including a facelift which a clinic in Istanbul showcased on their Instagram.
The star herself and her boyfriend JJ Slater, also took to Instagram on August 1 to show their arrival at the clinic to have meetings about their upcoming surgeries.
The Trio Clinic confirmed the 46-year-old star’s location with a video showing her arriving in the country hours after Price posted her own story addressing the court drama.
Just hours before, Judge Catherine Burton had issued an arrest warrant for Price’s failure to attend court hearings over her bankruptcy case.
The court heard: ‘She has no real excuse in failing to attend today’s hearing. The reason for her absence today is irrelevant.’
Hitting back, Price said she was ‘fully aware of the severity of my current personal financial situation’ but ‘shocked’ at the response to her missing the hearing.
The I’m A Celeb icon said she was in Istanbul filming a documentary on corrective surgeries, which appears to include getting a facelift and dentistry.
Price confirmed her son Harvey, 22, was with her by posting a snap of him sitting in a wheelchair and smiling with the caption: ‘Going to enjoy my holiday work trip, filming with @officialharveyprice.’
According to The Sun, she headed to the Turkish capital after her usual surgeon refused to do the work she wanted on her eyes and under her chin.
Price denied this in a follow-up video on her Instagram story, saying she had not spoken to anyone else about her face and was recommended this clinic by friends.
An insider said: ‘Katie was determined to change her face again and when her usual clinic in Brussels said no, she made new arrangements.
‘Katie has no intention to face the music back in the UK any time soon and is even thinking about extending the trip.
‘She is with JJ and her close friend, who is getting a tummy tuck, so she feels happy being away from the drama back home.’
In the clinic’s video, Price arrived at the airport in good spirits with boyfriend JJ Slater and her friend Lou Anderson, who is getting a tummy tuck.
She hugged everyone, received a bunch of flowers, and was all smiles as they took a luxury car ride across the city.
In a snap posted by Slater, 31, he also visited a dental clinic while in the city – although Price was not featured in the clip.
The Mucky Mansion star was due to be in court to answer questions over her reported £3.2million debts but failed to attend.
The Insolvency and Companies Court Judge said Price had received ‘very clear warnings’ that she must attend the hearing after it was pushed back from May 14.
Barrister Darragh Connell added: ‘Her liberty is on the line, but unfortunately we are at the end of the road in relation to this matter.’
Price initially kept quiet about her trip to Turkey, posting nothing but a crisp sandwich to her Instagram story when the warrant was issued.
However, she has since shared a lengthy statement on the matter with fans which addressed the situation.
The TV personality wrote: ‘Whilst I’m fully aware of the severity of my current personal financial situation with my ongoing bankruptcy, I am today shocked that whilst away working for a documentary on corrective surgeries that I should find myself yet again headline news.
‘The media in my opinion once again are trying to cause continued humiliation to myself and family. There are far greater and more pressing issues going on around the world that are more important, and I’m sure most people are bored of reading stories that are consistently misrepresented.
‘I have and I am continuing to cooperate with the relevant people on matters to the best of my ability which will be addressed after my return from work.
‘Despite consistent stories trying to humiliate me on my personal misfortunes, I am neither embarrassed or ashamed. I own my situation and I am trying my best to work my way out of it and put matters right.
‘I have to continue in my work in order to satisfy these bankruptcy orders which is all I am trying to do right now.
‘I am however not running from matters and will continue to take matters with great seriousness. I am doing the best I can to rectify things during extremely challenging times.
‘Once again I would like to remind you there are far greater and more newsworthy stories. I will continue to work on my mental health disorders for the sake of myself and family and do the best I can.’
