These six cute ducklings fell into a manhole but a team of firefighters managed to rescue them.

The baby ducks were spotted by a concerned person in Biggin Hill, south-east London.

When the firefighters arrived they found the poor ducklings struggling and trying to escape.

But the team managed to rescue them and reunited them with their mum less than an hour after they were called.

Pictures shared on social media by London Fire Brigade (LFB) show the team with the adorable babies after the rescue.

A LFB spokesperson said that teams are always ‘ready and willing’ to assist animals.

They said in a statement: ‘Firefighters love animals too and we are ready, willing, and able to assist distressed or injured animals.

Firefighters successfully rescued the ducklings and reunited them with their mother.

‘The last thing we want is for people to put themselves at risk rescuing an animal themselves.

‘We do encourage people to call the RSPCA in the first instance and we will assist if our specialist equipment is required, as in this case.’

LFB added that one fire engine was called to the incident on July 28.
