A video game collector has won an incredible Guinness World Record by connecting 444 consoles to a single TV, as he shows off every gamer’s dream room.
Every now and then gaming finds its way into the Guinness World Record archives, like when a man showed off his video game collection of 24,268 titles – deemed the biggest in the world.
GTA 5 broke not one but seven Guinness World Records when it came out in 2013, including the best-selling video game in 24 hours and fastest entertainment property to gross $1 billion.
A far less predictable record has now been confirmed, as a game collector has managed to connect 444 unique consoles to a single TV.
Ibrahim Al-Nasser from Saudi Arabia told Guinness World Record that the idea for the attempt happened because he had to keep buying switchers to port his old gaming consoles to his modern TV.
At one point he had so many switchers that he could connect all 444 consoles to a single TV, and it worked.
It’s such a big operation – with so many consoles and designated switchers – that he has an Excel sheet with an overview of how to play all the console.
Al-Nasser says his favourite console of all time is the Sega Mega Drive and that his gaming room is not just for playing but that it has become a museum as well.
The record attempt includes the first ever console, the Magnavox Odyssey, from 1972, up to the PS5 Slim, released last year.
The set-up includes less mainstream consoles such as the Sega Saturn, PC Engine, Neo-Geo, and even Nintendo’s Virtual Boy.
Al-Nasser’s collection doesn’t stop at consoles, however, as his gaming room is full of arcade machines, memorabilia, old computers, controllers, and video games, as you can see in the video above.
His collection is quite a sight, as he’s essentially gathered a substantial chunk of gaming history in one room, enough to make any gamer jealous.
