A Netflix series has been rightfully renewed for round two after racking up just under 70 million views.

The Gentlemen captivated audiences when it was released in March, leading to impressive numbers.

Now the Guy Ritchie creation, which is a spin-off of the film of the same name, is getting a second season, so the criminal misadventures of Eddie Horniman (Theo James) and Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) can continue.

The news was revealed on Netflix’s official social media accounts, much to the excitement of fans. On X, the streamer chose a video of Eddie puffing smoke into the camera, and Susie flashing her trademark stern expression.

While over on Instagram, they shared a video of a giant billboard displayed in London, complete with a burning cigarette, which we presume is meant to replicate cannabis due to the subject matter of the popular show.

‘Roll on season 2 of The Gentlemen 🔥 Filming is due to kick off in 2025,’ they teased.

In the first series, Eddie discovered that his recently deceased father was in cahoots with a local crime gang. He inherits the unusual business venture and unexpectedly becomes the landlord of a weed farm.

After becoming entangled in the criminal enterprise, overseen by the hard-nosed gangster Susie, and her crime boss father Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone), soon bloodshed, chaos, and mischief ensue, while Eddy gets sucked further into the dark side.

While he began as a fish out of water, he quickly learnt how to survive in the brutal world, and he ended the finale as a co-owner of the empire.

Viewers will now get to see where the joint enterprise leads the gang including, his chaotic brother, Freddie (Daniel Ings), who was brutally dubbed the ‘most annoying character in TV history.’

The second series will be eight episodes long, with Theo, 39, Kaya, 32, and Daniel, 38, all reprising their roles.

Fans have reacted with excitement to the news of The Gentlemen’s return.

‘OMG GET OUT I’M SO READY,’ shouted Zainab Jiwa on the Instagram post.

‘THIS NEWS JUST MADE MY DAY, MY MONTH, MY WHOLE ENTIRE YEAR,’ echoed Hugh Jade.

Many viewers agreed with it being dubbed ‘the best’ including Joie who previously declared: ‘THE GENTLEMEN BEST NETFLIX SERIES 2024 PERIODT’.

‘One of the best they’ve produced of late for me,’ said Matt Elliott. Harrison Wheele3 declared: ‘The Gentlemen on Netflix is one of the best British series out there.’

A few viewers already have ideas for one narrative they’d like to see featured. ‘Now we need Eddie and Susie endgame!!!!!!,’ wrote Ines Benis.

While fans have expressed what their dream plots would be, very little has actually been revealed so far.

However, the actors previously speculated on where it could go. ‘It’d be fun to see the business spread a bit more. How do they take it to the next level?’ asked Kaya.

‘They’re very adamant about not getting into the chop game, so how do they then continue to build the empire? Where does that take them? How does the new structure of the business work practically?’

Theo told Tudum: ‘I think they’ve [Susie and Eddie] grown to love each other in their own way, but I think they’ll never fully trust each other because they are so different and they’re from such vastly different worlds.

‘There’s a love between them, but ultimately they will never be from the same cloth.’

The Gentlemen season one is available to watch on Netflix.
