Thanks to a now-deleted listing on ShopTo, everyone now knows when the upcoming Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection is coming out.

The exact release date for the upcoming Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection compilation was briefly shown on UK online retailer ShopTo, before it was hurriedly taken down.

The launch day was shown as November 22, but was quickly removed by the retailer, although evidence of it still exists on social media.

Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection was announced back in June, and there is still no official release date, but what is for sure is that publisher Capcom will skip Xbox with the six-in-one bundle of classic arcade games.

The compilation was announced during this summer’s Nintendo Direct, with a release time left as merely sometime this year, but November 22 is still probably a bit later than fans were hoping for.

The games included in the collection are fighting games X-Men: Children Of The Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men Vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2: New Age Of Heroes, and scrolling beat ’em-up The Punisher.

The collection will release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC, but not Xbox – because Capcom’s MT Framework game engine is difficult to port to the Xbox Series X/S.

According to the Xbox Two Podcast, Microsoft is working on a fix, to facilitate Capcom’s older games.

Whether that will mean an Xbox version of Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection will be released further down the line isn’t clear, but at the very least hopefully it’ll be the last game affected.

Fans are excited about Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection not just because of the games it contains but because it means Capcom has the Marvel licence again.

While it’s tempting to hope that means a brand new Marvel Vs. Capcom may be possible that’s not necessarily the case, and they may only have the licence to re-release games that already exist.

Capcom has been subtlety hinting at a new Vs. fighter of some kind though, with whispers of a new team-up with either Sega or SNK.
