Bobby Lashley has officially left WWE and been removed from the main roster.
The All Mmighty, who appeared on Raw, SmackDown and WWE’s own ECW revival brand over his illustrious career, is now a free agent and able to wrestle anywhere he wants.
His contract status has been the source of speculation for weeks now, but he has been moved to the alumni section on WWE.com.
Also moved over is his former Hurt Business associate and mentor MVP, whose own contract recently expired.
It’s unclear where Lashley will go next, but he recently revealed he is currently recovering from surgery after getting injured during a live event in France at the beginning of May.
‘I had surgery. A little boo boo, happened in France during a match. Just a freak accident,’ he told The Laboratory podcast.
‘They told me I wasn’t supposed to be back for six months. Six weeks, I have the brace off, working out.
‘My physical therapist was like, “You’re not supposed to be able to do that.” “I’m different.” I’m working out and lifting.
‘I don’t think I’m two months out of surgery now and I’m hitting it pretty hard. I think I’ll be ready and cleared in less than a month. At that time, we’ll see what happens.’
As a member of the US Army, he initially excelled as an amateur wrestler, and went onto join WWE in 2005, starting in Ohio Valley Wrestling before joining SmackDown in 2005.
He left the company three years later and spent time on the independent scene and with TNA Wrestling (then known as IMPACT), and then returned to WWE in 2018.
One of his most famous matches came in 2007 at WrestleMania 23, when he represented Donald Trump in the Battle of the Billionaires against Umaga, who was wrestling for Vince McMahon, and won.
Lashley’s removal from the main roster came almost two decades after he made his SmackDown debut.
Although his future in wrestling still remains to be seen, he teased that he could see himself stepping into the boxing ring, as well as taking on other athletic pursuits.
Does the man never rest?
‘I love to be able to push myself to do things that are ridiculous,’ he continued. ‘I set goals for myself every day. What can I do? How far can I push myself? How much can I do?
‘I want to run a marathon. I’m going to try to do that pretty soon. I’ll do jiu-jitsu, I’m going to try and win a world championship in jiu-jitsu.
‘I’m going to do a boxing match. We’ve already talked about this boxing match. I might have an opportunity to do it. I’m boxing somebody in Vegas. There is an opponent.’
