A schoolgirl has been missing for nearly a week after heading to Glasgow to stay with friends.

Eva Brown was last seen on August 9 leaving a family member’s home in Winchburgh, a village 10 miles west of Edinburgh and 31 miles northeast of Glasgow.

Her family heard from her on August 11 before she went silent, fuelling ‘extreme concern’ for the 14-year-old’s whereabouts.

The force says it has renewed its missing person appeal amid false reports saying she has been found.
