Popstar Bebe Rexha has shared an update with fans after an alleged run-in with a Lufthansa employee at an airport yesterday that left her hysterically crying.

The American singer, 34, shared multiple tearful videos to her Instagram Story on Saturday afternoon, claiming she was not let onto a flight after speaking Albanian to an airline worker she thought looked Albanian.

The Grammy-nominated star told her 11.9 million followers through tears that an employee of the airline was ‘threatening’ her and felt she had been a victim of a ‘hate crime’.

A representative for Lufthansa told Metro.co.uk on Saturday: ‘We reached out to Bebe Rexha and are in direct contact with her to understand the situation. As an international airline, we connect people and countries around the globe.’

They added: ‘Our guests and employees come from all over the world. Diversity and equal opportunity are core values for our company and our corporate culture. We do not tolerate any discriminatory behaviour of any kind.’

The star has now updated fans, admitting she has ‘never been so emotionally drained’.

Posting to her Instagram story, she wrote, ’Lufthansa has direct messaged me but I urge them to do a full investigation on finding out who this man who was abusing his power is. An ‘I’m sorry’ is not gonna cut it this time.’

Her post was followed up by one from her mother, Bukurije Rexha, who appeared to threaten the airline with legal action following the ordeal.

‘Bebe was subjected to abusive conduct by an airport agent, which constituted a clear violation of my rights as a passenger,’ she wrote on her Instagram story.

‘The agent’s behavior was not only unprofessional but also discriminatory and degrading, causing significant emotional distress,’ she said. ‘This incident may warrant legal action for harassment, emotional distress, and potential violations of applicable consumer protection and anti-discrimination laws.’

Bebe has not reshared her mother’s stories, despite having reshared one on Saturday in which Bukurije called for her daughter to ‘make it home safe’ and ‘investigate’ the male officer.

The singer caused concern among fans when she posted a video of herself crying: ‘The supervisor on this flight of Lufthansa is threatening me.’

The Call You Mine singer, who is of Albanian heritage, then appeared to be approached by an airline worker and told them: ‘Don’t threaten me again.’

She wrote over the video: ‘I was threatened by Lufthansa because I thought the agent was Albanian. I spoke to him in Albanian, asking him where to get my ticket, and now he is stopping my flight.’

Soon after, Bebe shared another video of herself crying, appearing distraught as she sat in the airport. She told fans in the following slide she believed she was a victim of a ‘hate crime’.

‘I believe this to be a hate crime because I am Albanian,’ she wrote in a statement. ‘He would not let me take his name. He continued to mentally abuse me to make me feel like he was more powerful than he was.’

She added: ’Not one of the women at @Lufthansa stepped in or said something. He would not give me his name. But I just found out he works for ATSG a service company document control hired by Lufthansa.’

Many fans took to X to share their concern for the star.

‘This girl is always being mistreated or being disrespected… bebe rexha deserves sm more people need to start respecting her.’ Playwoi wrote.

Another fan, princceq added: ’Bebe goes through something every two busy days, praying for her mental health, this is sad. Too, she’s a good person.’

However others were skeptical about her claims with theDjole stating: ‘There must be something else in this story bc no one would ban you from the flight just for speaking a different language lol’.

imnotpopbase added: ‘It’s always something with this girl I can’t’.

Bebe appeared to be flying out of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, following her performance at the MDL Beast festival on Friday night.
