Shannen Doherty’s mother has revealed her plans to uphold the late actress’s legacy.

Her mother, Rosa Doherty, is set to take over her late daughter’s podcast in her memory.

The Hollywood star – known for her roles in Charmed and Beverly Hills, 90210 – died from cancer in July, aged 53.

Two months on, Rosa has confirmed that she will continue to make the Let’s Be Clear podcast, which so far has over 40 episodes after its launch last year.

Rosa said on the latest episode of the show: ‘I am now going to be doing my best to try to continue this for her because that’s what we discussed that she wanted me to do.

‘And, of course, I’m not her. I could never be her. I’m not as well-spoken as she was.

‘But, I’m here for all of you, and I hope you’re all here for me.’

Rosa also explained just how much the podcast meant to her daughter, especially during her health struggles.

She shared: ‘This podcast meant so much to Shannen, because it allowed her to tell her story and tell her truth.

‘And over the years, there’s been so many stories and untruths and things mixed up that it was just finally she says, “I wanna do this, and I have so many people that have followed me over the years and and have supported me, and I just want to give them the opportunity to hear what my life really is.”

‘And that was part of the reason for this podcast. And it meant, so much to me because I got to watch her do this when it was so special for her and needed. It helped her so much in everything that she was going through.’

Doherty died at her home in Malibu on July 13, after years of living with cancer.

Leslie Sloane, her long-time publicist, announced at the time: ‘It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty.

‘On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease.

‘The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie.

‘The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace.’

Many high-profile stars, collaborators, and friends of Doherty’s paid tribute to her, including Jennie Garth and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Her death also prompted Beverly Hills, 90201 castmate Jason Priestley to message their former co-stars the words: ‘No more loss.’

Her former group of actor friends were reeling, especially as it came after the 2019 death of another of the 90210 stars, Luke Perry.

Most recently, it was revealed that Doherty managed to settle with her estranged husband Kurt Iswarienko a day before she died.

It then emerged the case was signed off by a judge two days after her passing to grant her a rare posthumous divorce on July 15.

In the court documents, it was revealed Doherty agreed to waive spousal support and opted for a ‘default or uncontested dissolution’ of her marriage to Kurt.

As per reports, the TV star kept the former couple’s home in Malibu, California, as well as a Salvador Dali painting, several cars and all earnings from her acting career. No further details were released about who will inherit Doherty’s estate.

The pair wed in 2011 and Doherty filed for divorce last year, with the legal spat turning nasty earlier this year when she claimed in court papers that Kurt was hoping ‘I die before he is required to pay me while he continues to live his life and shirk his responsibilities to his dying wife of more than 11 years’.

Elsewhere, Doherty’s ex-husband Ashley Hamilton described her as his ‘guardian angel’ following her death. They wed after knowing one another for just two weeks in 1993.

Doherty was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015 and was in remission by 2017.

Sadly, her illness returned three years later and in 2023 she revealed it had spread to her bones and brain.
