Netflix star Rob ‘The Rabbit’ Pitts has died aged 45, after sharing a heartbreaking video to fans titled: ‘This Is Goodbye.’

The Tex Mex Motors star revealed he had been diagnosed with stomach cancer in March in a devastating message to fans.

It was later confirmed he died in a hospice on Sunday.

In a video to his fans shared earlier that day, Pitts wrote: ‘You haven’t heard much from me lately, and I know some of you are wondering about what I’ve been up to.

‘I started feeling “off” after SEMA last year, and I was losing weight.

‘But I was getting ready to film season 2 of TexMex Motors for Netflix, and wanted to be camera ready, so I didn’t mind that so much.

‘During filming, I started to lose my appetite, and had more and more acid reflux-like symptoms.’

He shared that he went to ‘urgent care’ where he was treated a few times, but wasn’t able to discover the cause of the ‘root problem’.

After thinking he may have ‘gallbladder issues’, Pitts was diagnosed with stomach cancer in March.

He went on: ‘Since then I have been getting treatments at home, and it’s been rough. More bad days than good, but hanging in there.

‘I have a lot to live for and life has been going my way.’

‘Don’t be sad for me…’ he went on, highlighted how he accomplished his dream of buying his own store, finished filming the second season and ‘marrying the love of my life’.

He added: ‘Luckily she doesn’t mind doing long-term things with a short-term guy.’

Giving advice to his fans and followers, Pitts wrote: ‘If your body is telling you something is wrong, don’t stop until you figure it out. Ask questions and get answers.’

He concluded: ‘Thank you for listening to my stories over the years. If my stories have impacted you, I would love to hear about it.

‘Until next time, Rabbit.’

The three-minute clip was titled: ‘This Is Goodbye. (RIP 7/27/79 – 8/25/24)’

A pinned comment on the video read: ‘Hey everyone, this is Jeff (Rob’s Videographer). I am with him now in Hospice. He just passed at 21:45 on 08/25/2024.

‘I will be sure to preserve the channel. He will be missed and we will never forget him!’

Fans also shared their tributes in the comments, with @Jim-qc6gu writing: ‘I am a 77-year-old man, enjoyed your stories for years. Sitting at the kitchen table having coffee, crying.’

@jimtekkit said: ‘Someone perfectly described Rob’s voice as “honey poured over gravel”. I’ll never forget the man, his voice and his stories.’

@ProdigyAutomotive added: ‘Rob Pitts played a massive role in the man I am today. He inspired me to buy and sell cars. When I was a kid he was my #1 role model, I wanted to be just like him one day, and I still do.

‘He inspired me to start a business, he inspired me to be the good, honest businessman that I aim to be. He made such a massive impact in my life, as well as many others. Rest in peace Rabbit, you will never be forgotten.’

The reality star was best known for his appearance on Tex Mex Motors, which followed a passionate team of car restorers setting up an auto body shop near the US-Mexico border.

The car scout and salesman featured alongside shop boss Mike Coy, engine specialist Jaime Hjelm and fabricator Wesley Zachary.

Tex Mex Motors is available to watch on Netflix.
