The Six’s killer secret was laid bare to a distraught Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) in a game-changing episode of EastEnders on Thursday.

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) ‘fessed up about killing Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) to his sister, after failing to get the police to take her confession seriously.

The Queen Vic landlady was last seen admitting her guilt down at the station at the end of Wednesday’s episode, but the latest instalment of the BBC soap saw the officer dismiss her, finding holes in her story and believing she had been drinking.

Desperate to find peace, Linda headed back to the Square and straight to the caff, where Bernie was working late.

As the truth came spilling out, a distressed Bernie attacked Linda and started to strangle her – mirroring how her brother had strangled Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) shortly before Linda stabbed him to save her best mate’s life.

After receiving a warning from Phil Mitchell’s lawyer Ritchie Scott (Sian Webber) that Linda had been to the police station to confess, Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) arrived at the caff to try and stop her from blabbing.

But it was too late, and seeing Bernie’s torment, Kathy then tearfully revealed all about their role in covering up Keanu’s death that fateful Christmas night.

Realising Bernie would soon shop them to the police, The Six begged for time to say goodbye to their children, as Bernie rushed out.

However, Bernie’s next move currently looks uncertain, as she was later seen in The Albert calling her mum Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley), where she was unable to tell her about the horror she’d just learned.

Could The Six actually end up getting a reprieve from Bernie?

While Linda, Suki, Denise, Kathy and Stacey might not be in prison yet, the same cannot be said for Sharon.

After being held in contempt of court for her outburst at Dean Wicks’ (Matt Di Angelo) trial earlier in the week, she was taken down to her cell at the end of Thursday’s episode.

A huge shock awaits her, however, as the final moments revealed that none other than Chrissie Watts is in the cell next door to her’s, as actress Tracy-Ann Oberman made an earlier-than-billed return to the soap.

Chrissie is currently serving a life sentence for killing Sharon’s father Den Watts (Leslie Grantham), with Sharon playing a fundamental role in bringing her step-mother to justice.

While little is known about what will happen next, it is sure to be explosive…

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One, and from 6am on iPlayer.
