On April 11th, 2021, Daunte Wright was killed by Brooklyn Center Police Officer Potter. What should have been a simple traffic stop, turned into another death of a member of our community. Officer Potter has maintained that Daunte's death was the result of a mistake between the use of her taser and firearm. The Council, along with members of our community maintain that this mistake should never have happened.

The Council has developed a survey to better understand the issues that are most important to our community. This survey will be used to help shaped the Council’s priorities for the next legislative session. It is very important that we hear from as many people as possible, so that we can put numbers behind our statements regarding the needs and wants of our community. Masks are required in all indoor spaces for unvaccinated individuals. Exceptions will be made for those under the age of 5 years old and those with a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask.
