To address the shortage of mechanics and electronics specialists in the Western Balkans, we are collaborating with Sida and Helvetas through the RECONOMY program. This initiative will provide vocational training focused on sustainable, environmentally friendly solutions and promote gender equality by integrating youth and women into the labor market. Through this project, young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Serbia will gain essential skills to work with modern, green technologies in the heavy-duty and transport industries. By empowering the youth with high-quality training, we aim to foster economic development and drive the green transition in the region.

Our Chief Technology Officer Lars Stenqvist set out the future of sustainable transportation during a fireside chat at the Consumer Technology Association’s annual CEO Summit, held this year in Stockholm. Thanks to Gary Shapiro and Kinsey Fabrizio for inviting us to play a part in this exciting event. Well moderated by John Penney. The event was an great opportunity to meet with so many leaders across diverse sectors. Lars said: ”Partnerships are needed to amplify the transformation. We know this approach works. It requires and open minded and innovative way of cooperating across industry sectors – sometimes even with your competitors – to accelerate the pace of change.”

At Volvo Group, we are more than 100,000 people who all have commitments outside of our jobs – families, homes, and other activities we enjoy and care for. We are parents, children, partners, friends, and teammates. It is important to ensure we all get home safely every day. Turning safety aspirations into actions is challenging, which is why we celebrate excellence through the Volvo Group Health & Safety Award. Recognizing outstanding initiatives helps improve practices and foster a culture of care. From promoting safety in production to enhancing mental health support, these efforts demonstrate our commitment to a secure environment for all.

For many decades, we have been committed to ensuring that all employees are treated with respect and equality regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity. Among European industrial technology companies, we were the first to pioneer a global LGBTQIA+ network in our sector: The V-EAGLE network, established in 2005. 🏳️🌈 We believe we all need to be free to share who we are – both in and out of work. The well-being and professional fulfillment of our colleagues depend on the ability to be themselves. In the past year alone, V-EAGLE has drastically increased the number of supporters. Our work on sexual orientation and gender identity is ever-evolving, but we are proud of this recent milestone. #pridemonth #lgbtq #inclusion
