Ian Fernando Martínez De la Rosa joined S&P [Standard & Poor's] Global Mobility (formerly IHS Markit | Automotive) in 2021. He works as Automotive Sales and Account Manager for the Americas based in Mexico City.
Ian Fernando covers new business opportunities and support current clients to anticipate change, plan strategically and make informed decisions with conviction. He focuses primarily on Automotive Tier 1-2-3 suppliers, raw material providers and the aftermarket — covering the entire automotive value chain.
Prior to joining S&P Global, he worked at the production system and strategy department within BMW Plant San Luis Potosí in Mexico where he acquired experience on the integration of structural changes in the value stream and strategy of the plant, and an overall understanding of this OEM's global production network.
He served as an undergraduate research assistant at the Computer Science Research Center (CIC-IPN) in Mexico. His work focused on the implementation of Artificial Intelligence for 3D detection of vehicles and autonomous driving.
Ian holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering from Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) in Mexico. He also has international experience studying at the Riga Technical University (RTU) in Latvia. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
