Congratulations to the winners of the AIA Healthiest Schools Competition!   As part of AIA Malaysia’s Purpose of helping people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives, we launched the AIA Healthiest Schools Programme in October last year to equip teachers with the tools to support student health and wellbeing. Endorsed by the Ministry of Education and supported by education partner, LeapEd Services, the initiative aimed to foster a culture of health and wellness amongst students. The programme also includes a competition that gives schools in Malaysia the chance to share their own health initiatives and win exciting prizes totalling USD$100,000. Following the conclusion of the competition in March this year, we received many outstanding entries from schools across Malaysia. On 19 June 2024, we gathered to celebrate the success of 18 schools from various states, each emerging as winners in their respective categories. Yang Berusaha Pn Ida Hairani Bt Bakar, Deputy Director of Sports, Co-curricular & Arts Division, Ministry of Education, Malaysia along with Mr Ben Ng, Chief Executive Officer , AIA Malaysia and Mr Heng Zee Wang, Chief Marketing Officer, AIA Malaysia presented the prizes to all 18 schools who implemented creative and inspiring ideas to make their schools healthier and happier. We’re happy to announce that SK Putrajaya Presint 11(1) has been crowned the 1st place winner in the primary category for their innovative HELPIE project. This student-led health mobile app features tools to help students be aware of their stress levels and manage their feelings and emotions. Meanwhile, the 1st place winner for the secondary category went to SMK Convent Butterworth for their Eco Jump Rope and Dumbbell project - a creative and eco-friendly approach to promoting health and wellbeing among students. Menopause can be a long and uncomfortable uphill journey for many women over 40. Yet, it is seldom talked about, especially at the workplace. To provide a safe space for our people to understand the transition so they can better prepare for it, #AIA Malaysia’s MY Women’s Network hosted an open discussion on the topic, featuring guest speakers Premitha Damodaran and Tracy Minnoch-Nuku at our head office in Kuala Lumpur recently. Thank you, Dr Premitha and Tracy, for educating us on the varying symptoms, the practical lifestyle changes involving exercise and nutrition one can make to manage the symptoms, and workplace adjustments that could support colleagues to continue to thrive professionally. We hope that our colleagues feel confident and supported to take charge of their wellbeing during this important lifestage change so they can continue to live their best lives. #LifeAtAIA #BelieveInBetter #WomenAtWork #WomensNetwork
