...𝗠𝘆 𝗸𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲? 𝗚𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 ...𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴. 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗴𝗮𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀. ...𝗜'𝗺 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀. Do any of these lines sound familiar to you? Sarah, a mom to two young daughters, used to think this way. Her girls were just 8 and 5 then when the unexpected happened. Like any addiction, it starts small. Maybe just a few minutes of fidgeting with Mom's phone. Those minutes will eventually turn into a couple of hours. And from those hours will spawn more hours in a day, until it practically becomes unlimited. Did Sarah do something about it? Of course, she did. She wrestled away the devices or called for a timeout whenever she felt her kids were having way too many already. And I wished it all stopped there. The kids, finally learning their lesson, and from now on played more responsibly. The whole family is back to normal again. Unfortunately... it didn't. Her controlling habit led her eldest to be secretive. The young one would sneak out of her room late at night to play with the computer. And the most disheartening of all, the child has learned to search for "inappropriate" adult content. Sarah's world came crashing down. In her words "I was in a desperate place." Tell me, how would you feel if you discovered your daughter, or your son, doing such? How long will you keep delaying? That's it's normal. Everything will right itself eventually. Where do you draw the line and decide it's time to take action? Your first step can start with the free online event I'm sharing with Meredith DePaolo, and hosted by Carrots&Cake. Yes, that's right. FREE. It's happening on the 28th, at 9:00 PM EDT | 29th, at 9:00 AM PST. Click on the link in the comments section to read more and secure your seat. #parenting #ScreenTime #family

Digital Harassment of Teachers by Students: Unveiling the Dark Side of Social Media in Schools It’s alarming to witness the recent incident at Great Valley Middle School in Malvern, Pa., where students launched a mass attack on their teachers using fake TikTok accounts. This distressing event underscores the urgent need for responsible technology use and digital literacy. Here are the critical points: Severe Impact on Teachers: More than 20 educators were impersonated with inappropriate and harmful content, deeply affecting their morale and mental health. This level of digital harassment is unacceptable and demoralizing. 😞 Limited Accountability Measures: While the school took disciplinary actions, legal constraints hinder their ability to fully address off-campus behavior. We need clearer policies and stronger measures to safeguard both students and educators. 📜⚖️ Educational Imperatives: It’s crucial that schools implement comprehensive digital citizenship programs to educate students on the real-world consequences of their online actions. Empathy, respect, and responsible tech use must be at the forefront of our educational efforts. 🏫🌍 Parental Guidance is Essential: Parents must be vigilant and proactive in guiding their children’s online behavior. Open conversations about the dangers and responsibilities associated with social media are vital. 👨👩👧👦💬 This situation is a wake-up call! At Carrots&Cake, we emphasize the importance of digital literacy and responsible tech use. Let’s come together to create safer, more respectful online environments for our students and teachers. #DigitalLiteracy #ResponsibleTechUse #OnlineSafety #Education #ParentalGuidance #Cyberbullying #EmpathyInEducation

Sextortion is no joke in today's technology-driven world. Scammers will do anything to get what they want, often targeting kids who are easy to manipulate for financial gain. The recent rise in these malicious scams has led to devastating consequences, including fatalities among young victims. It's crucial for us to stay aware of our kids' online activities. Encourage open conversations with your children about their digital experiences and any problems they encounter. Together, we can build a safer online environment and protect our children from these harmful threats.

⚠️ “Our target is to kill 100 people” this criminal threatened me. 🫤 Honestly… I think they succeeded. 📲 He’s a Yahoo Boy perpetrating sextortion scams against minors. This vicious new scam involves catfishing, sexually exploiting, then ruthlessly blackmailing victims. Here’s how: https://lnkd.in/ec69hNDa 🌍 The FBI just increased the death toll of American minors killed by financial sextortion schemes. Nearly all of these teen suicides link back to perpetrators in one country. https://lnkd.in/emhaGCzm 📈 27 American kids killed in the past 24 months. Plus 5 Canadians, 5 Australians, and 2 Brits. 👉 That’s 39 dead kids. If any other organized crime group killed 39 children and sexually exploited 39,000 others, it would be headline news every night until it stops. ⚠️ These are just the “known” cases. In reality, I believe there have probably been over 100 teen suicides in the past two years at the hands of these scammers. 📝 Most of the victims didn’t leave a note. They’re taking this embarrassing situation to the grave. Their sudden suicides were a mystery to their families—reasons unknown for three months or longer. Most of these deaths are only discovered to be a result of sextortion when friends remember (or detectives guess) the PIN to the victim’s locked phones—a total crapshoot. 🚨In all likelihood, I believe these scammers have already killed 100 kids. The “unknown” cases will never be discovered due to locked phones and end-to-end encrypted messages on Instagram.

LAUSD Bans Cellphones and Social Media in Schools to Boost Learning and Mental Health 📚🧠 Big news! The Los Angeles Unified School District is banning cellphones and social media use during the school day for over 429,000 students. Starting January, this new policy aims to cut down on distractions and boost student mental health. Supported by Gov. Gavin Newsom and U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, this move follows a growing trend to limit smartphone use in schools. 📉📖 Research shows that less screen time can mean better grades and happier students. #Education #MentalHealth #StudentWellbeing #ClassroomFocus #LAUSD #DigitalWellness #ParentalControl #TechResponsibility #ScreenTimeManagement 📱🚫
