As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting education and bridging the digital divide, Maxis contributed 330 refurbished laptops to 77 primary and secondary schools across Malaysia over the span of nine months. This initiative is focused on empowering students, particularly those in rural communities, by providing access to #digitallearning resources like Maxis eKelas. In conjunction with National Training Week, we recently hosted Maxis Learning Week, showcasing our dedication to fostering learning and development within the Maxis community. Our Chief People and Transformation Officer, Patrick Er, alongside experts from Coursera, Disprz, and Human Resources Development Corporation (HRDC), kicked things off with an inspiring fireside chat on the power of learning and bridging skills gaps for a future-ready workforce.   The week was also filled with insightful trainings, workshops, and talks on topics like generative AI in the workplace, project management, as well as 5.5G technology. From vibrant vendor booths by our learning partners Coursera and Disprz, to engaging internal booths by Maxis Academy and our Learning Development Unit, our employees explored a variety of learning tools available at Maxis while enjoying delicious snacks. Exciting news! Maxis and the Penang State Government are collaborating to support digital skills development and learning in the state. Our collaboration was formalised at a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with Guest of Honour YB Jagdeep Singh Deo, Penang Deputy Chief Minister II and State Exco for Human Capital Development, Science and Technology. Maxis will provide free digital marketing skills training for entrepreneurs and youths, and expand the reach of our free #digitallearning resources among students and teachers in Penang schools. These initiatives will be delivered through our flagship community programmes, Maxis eKelas Usahawan and #eKelas. Goh Seow Eng, CEO of Maxis, said, "We are grateful to the Penang State Government for this opportunity to expand our Maxis eKelas Usahawan and eKelas programmes. Eight months after launching its e-waste recycling campaign with home collections in the Klang Valley, Johor Bahru, and Penang, Maxis has expanded its campaign to include a free postal drop-off service for all consumers in West Malaysia. The new service, managed by its campaign partner, ERTH (Blue Bee Technologies Sdn. Bhd.), further simplifies responsible e-waste disposal for all residents, making it easier for consumers to adopt eco-friendly habits. Last month, we were thrilled to host 40 students from Universiti Teknologi MARA Jasin's Information Systems Engineering programme at our Maxis Business Innovation Centre (MBIC). This visit was curated to provide students with valuable insights into our digital development function.   Our Development Lead, Ahmad Ridzwan, shared about the software development process, giving the students a glimpse into the real-world applications of their studies.
