Revenue rose to RM1.35 billion, a 20.9% increase from last year, with significant gains in Profit Before Tax (PBT) and Net Profit. This success is driven by our Energy Services segment and strategic project advancements, including new contract wins for Malaysia’s first Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) project off the Sarawak coast and a major offshore development in the Middle East. Our order book grew by 15%, now stands at RM3.7 billion, reflecting our strategy to diversify revenue streams and capitalise on emerging opportunities. Wasco, in partnership with Hydra Energy, has launched a ground-breaking pilot project to decarbonise truck fleets using a Hydrogen Fuel System Retrofit. This innovative system blends diesel and hydrogen, cutting greenhouse gas emissions by up to 40% while maintaining full vehicle performance. With no additional operating costs when hydrogen is priced on par with diesel and a 15-year life expectancy, this retrofit is both practical and cost-effective.   Hydrogen storage options offer flexibility, with refuelling times similar to diesel, enabling fleet owners to transition between fuels as hydrogen availability grows. Ideal for heavy haulage, the system leverages locally produced green or blue hydrogen, significantly reducing emissions from traditional energy sources.   Trials in Brisbane showed an average GHG reduction of 18%, and the system’s ‘pay-as-you-go’ model makes it accessible to all fleet owners.   Wasco’s Hydrogen Fuel System Retrofit is a scalable solution for the transportation sector. Recently, representatives from Wasco visited the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Soil Laboratory. This visit is part of an ongoing project under FRIM Incorporated Sdn Bhd (FRIM Inc.) where Wasco is evaluating carbon levels in the Wasco Forest, a rehabilitated area in HS Berkelah, Maran, Pahang.   During the visit, Wasco’s team observed firsthand the processes, equipment, and protocols used for soil carbon analysis. This included a detailed walkthrough of the laboratory, guided by ChM Jeyanny Vijayanathan, PhD, Head of the FRIM Soil Chemistry Laboratory and FAO ITPS Asia Expert, who provided insightful explanations about the methods used for soil specimen analysis.     We extend a special thanks to the FRIM team for showing us around the lab and explaining the stringent processes they use in testing our soil. Their expertise and thorough approach are invaluable to our project.   The collaboration between Wasco and FRIM underscores the importance of scientific research and advanced methodologies in environmental rehabilitation projects. Dr. HAMDAN OMAR, Senior Research Officer at FRIM was appointed as the consultant to conduct the soil carbon assessment at the project site through FRIM Inc. Our colleagues in Kuantan recently embarked on a heart-warming mission to bring joy and support to two local orphanage homes - Rumah Anak Yatim & Asnaf Al-Kauthar and Rumah Anak Yatim & Miskin Permata Camar - in its aim to continue bringing smiles and spreading goodwill, this time to the faces of 67 children and caretakers. The initiative saw our 20 passionate volunteers coming together cleaning the residence and compound, undertook repairing works, replacing old equipment and fixtures as well as distributing food aid and kits to both homes. Our objective was simple yet profound: to extend our hearts and helping hands in hopes of inspiring more acts of kindness and create a supportive community where everyone feels values and cared for. By fostering empathy, we hope to continue working side by side as we unite with a shared purpose to serve the communities within our network of operations. Today, Wasco’s Bioenergy Services division in Shah Alam hosted a visit from a group of fund managers and analysts, providing an in-depth briefing on our cutting-edge products and services that are pioneering sustainable energy solutions. Our guests observed the assembly of steam turbines, produced exclusively in collaboration with top Japanese manufacturer, Shinko, and they also visited our state-of-the-art high-efficiency boiler fabrication facility. Central to the discussion was Wasco’s latest innovation: the integration of IoT and predictive maintenance features into our machinery, expected to revolutionise the market. The division also highlighted our commitment to agro-based biomass energy. Positioned as a one-stop provider, Wasco delivers a comprehensive value chain for biomass energy generation. With a robust track record and impressive growth, our bioenergy services are setting new industry benchmarks. Our products, which include boilers and ancillary machinery, are being shipped to clients along the equatorial belt, including Latin America and Indonesia, while also serving local markets in Malaysia. Additionally, a significant portion of our facilities are powered by solar energy, underscoring our commitment to renewable energy practices. Truly a momentous occasion for our Engineering team! 🎉   Wasco Berhad, through its Engineering & Fabrication Division, recently has successfully completed its 300th module from its Batam facility. This significant milestone showcases Wasco’s outstanding Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) capabilities and our pivotal role in the energy sector.   The 300th module is part of the prestigious Angola FPSO project for an international FPSO Operator. Our Batam facility has recently expanded to a total of 33 hectares, enhancing our annual fabrication capacity to about 75,000 metric tonnes. Adding another feather to our hat, we also celebrated a major safety milestone with 47 million man-hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) – well done #TeamWasco!   Shan Karupiah, CEO of Wasco’s Engineering & Fabrication Division, emphasised its high-quality in-house engineering capability and the ongoing commitment to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE). He noted that the team is proud and truly joyous to be able to have delivered the critical power generation modules ahead of schedule, positively impacting project timelines for its clients.   “With new facilities, including a 300-metre quayside and a state-of-the-art Engineering Centre of Excellence, we are better equipped to handle extensive and complex projects, supporting the demand for modularisation for LNG, New Energies, and Carbon Capture, Use, and Storage (CCUS) segments.
