For the last 17 years, one of the nation’s most knowledgeable and accurate political pollsters has been based right here in North Carolina. Over the course of numerous primary and general elections during that period, Tom Jensen of Public Policy Polling has dissected and accurately forecast literally hundreds of races across the country. And with this year’s election now just a few months away, Jensen is once again busily analyzing the trends in voter attitudes.

NC Newsline caught up with Tom in his Raleigh office late last week and learned that President Biden’s much-criticized debate performance has actually had little impact on voters thus far and that this November is likely to still be a nail-biter – both for the presidential race and for a number of statewide races here in North Carolina.
