Cooper Criswell has made multiple trips back and forth between levels and cities with the Red Sox organization so far in 2024.

Currently back in Triple-A Worcester, the right-hander entered with a 1.83 ERA in four starts for the WooSox. Criswell took care of business again Saturday, tossing six innings of one-hit ball with no walks and eight strikeouts while shutting down the Syracuse Mets.

The Red Sox inked Criswell to a one-year deal in the offseason and he continues to pitch well in Triple-A. In 12 games in the majors this season, Criswell is 3-3 with a 4.15 ERA in 52 innings for Boston.

Boston is going to need that depth eventually with arms such as Tanner Houck and Kutter Crawford on pace to blow past their career highs in innings pitched. Both starters have been productive for the Red Sox, though Alex Cora has his work cut out to keep them healthy.

Josh Winckowski is back stretched out in Boston, though pursuing another starter at the trade deadline would be greatly beneficial to properly managing the Red Sox staff.

In the meantime, Criswell remains sharp in the organization and should be ready if/when he’s called back to the majors.
