SAN ANTONIO - Thank you, San Antonio and South Texas! Through the generosity of so many of you, our Feeding San Antonio campaign surpassed its goal by well over a million dollars!

Our first goal to help the food bank this week was set at $2 million , then $3 million, then Wednesday as we started our phone bank, we set it at $4 million, hoping to raise that money over the next two days.

But through the leadership of philanthropist Harvey Najim and several other donors who matched viewers' donations dollar-for-dollar, we were able raise more than $5,400,000 by 11 pm Thursday!

We want to thank ALL the generous individuals, businesses, and other groups who stepped up to help our friends and neighbors in need - along with Harvey Najim, Barbara Gentry and so many others who helped make this happen.

Plus a big thanks to Eric Cooper and all the people who work and volunteer to help at the San Antonio Food Bank.

Donors

Special thanks to the following donors who contributed to the matching fund:

  • Harvey E. Najim
  • USAA Foundation
  • Carlos and Malú Alvarez
  • Lacie and Joe Gorder
  • Gordon Hartman
  • Kronkosky Charitable Fund
  • Mays Family Foundation
  • NuStar Energy and Greehey Family Foundation
  • Whitacre Family Foundation
  • Tim Duncan

And so many more came through big as well, from Whataburger. Walmart and HEB, to the Methodist Healthcare Foundation. And there's a huge and still-growing list of generous donors.

You can see that complete list (though many wish to remain anonymous) and their comments here: https://my.safoodbank.org/feedingsanantonio.

We also encourage you to donate at that website and find out about how you can volunteer to help the San Antonio Food Bank.

Our stations are proud to be a part of this community and we know this is a very tough time for so many. We believe connecting people is our job and our responsibility and we feel privileged that we can help in this way.

So thank you again San Antonio! Stay strong. Stay healthy and let's all keep helping each other.

TO GO FOR GOOD

------------UPDATE----------

TO GO FOR GOOD has raised $43,250 to go toward the Food Bank!

TO GO FOR GOOD is a dining out campaign that will accompany the Feeding San Antonio on-air fundraiser benefiting the San Antonio Food Bank. We invite our community to support our local restaurants and the SA Food Bank at the same time by purchasing restaurant packages for two or four. Head to safoodbank.org/togoforgood any time between noon on Saturday, April 25th until midnight on April 30th to purchase your restaurant package.

*We'd also like to give a special shout-out to our own Don Harris, who has worked with Harvey Najim on his non-profit foundation board for more than a decade. He also worked to help make this happen.
