In recent times, private and government-owned technological enterprises have experienced an increase in cyber-attacks and data breaches which lead to the disruption of business operations and loss of trust. This highlights the need for effective security measures that can protect organisations. In a recent thought leadership article published on TechNext, Ugi Augustine Ugi JNR, Solutions Architect and President of Nugi Technologies Ltd. emphasises the importance of cybersecurity for technology enterprises and advocates for a comprehensive three-dimensional approach to cybersecurity. Firstly, ensure cybersecurity is integrated from inception: For organisations building products and systems that will be hosted online, it is important to ensure that the security architecture of the product is mapped out and tested before it is launched. Also, identify possible security risks and determine how to prevent them. Secondly, cybersecurity should be viewed as a continuous investment: The cybersecurity architecture of a company has to be upgraded regularly in line with recommended standards to guard against cyber attacks and breaches. By conducting regular end-to-end analysis, organisations can identify vulnerabilities and forestall attacks. Thirdly, invest in required training for software programmers and customer education: Training equips programmers with the competence required to build products or systems that comply with global cybersecurity standards. Additionally, when customers are educated on the possible forms of cyber attacks that they may be susceptible to, they can avoid a data compromise on their end. Ugi also recommends the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning to shore up cybersecurity, thereby emphasising the need for more data centres in Nigeria. In line with this, Nugi Technologies is currently working on launching its own data centre in Calabar, Cross River. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/d2W6uXba

Wondering what investors expect from founders? Well, we asked them about the qualities they look out for, and here are some of the things they had to say: “Does the team include members with technical, domain, business, and financial expertise? The founding team must be well-rounded enough to complement each other's strengths and weaknesses.” – Mide Alonge; Investment and Portfolio Manager. “A founding team that can build the core product to at least the MVP stage by themselves without relying on external technical expertise.” – Johnson Adebisi; Investment Analyst. “We back great founders. Not good, not okay, but great. And so in our minds, the best founders will find ways to solve their problems regardless of whoever is around them.” – Yewande Odumosu; Partner at HoaQ Ventures Fund. The timeline for seeing results from a PR campaign can vary significantly depending on several factors. While some campaigns might generate results quickly, typically between 1-6 months, the most significant and lasting results typically come from sustained, strategic efforts over time (typically 6-12 months and beyond). Several key factors such as campaign objectives and scope, existing brand recognition, quality and consistency of PR efforts, media relationships, and receptiveness would play vital roles in determining the timeline for results.
