I'm an investigative journalist with special interest in social justice, conflict and accountability reporting. I firmly believe that brave and tenacious investigative reporting plays a crucial role in combating corruption and molding society.
With a proven track record of thorough fact-checking, I also specialize in detecting and investigating information disorder and influence operations using Open Source Intelligence, data and research.
I work as a reporter and fact-checker with International Centre for Investigative Reporting. I am a grantee of the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and winner of 2023 PWC award on Tax and Fiscal Policy Reporting.

Disinformation: How social media users launder suspended Nigerian minister Betta Edu’s image on X

In January 2024, more than 50 social media users converged online to amplify similar narratives making the phrase "Dr Betta Edu" to trend for several days on X. For FactCheckHub, I showed that this is not merely a coincidence; rather, it is a disinformation campaign orchestrated and launched by individuals with the aim of pressuring the authorities into reinstating the suspended Humanitarian Affairs minister.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) introduced the electronic call-up system, powered by the Eto App, to tackle the issue of truck congestion in Apapa ports and restore order to that economic gateway. However, indiscriminate extortion and touting by hoodlums and corrupt security agencies along ports’ corridors have continued to impede the efficiency of the system. In this report, I examine how this development threatens the maritime sector.
