🌟 Inspiring the Next Generation of Leaders! 🌟 A group of local Girls Scouts recently visited Ahlstrom's Rhinelander Mill as part of the troop’s Women in Business Tour. The troop is visiting local businesses to learn about potential career opportunities through hands-on experiences. Sheila Widule, Sarah Zunk and Aimee Kranz from our Rhinelander team led the girls on a guided tour of the mill where they learned about the paper industry and the papermaking process. In addition to sharing their educational and career journeys, our team stressed to the troop the importance of remaining curious and continually challenging themselves to learn and how STEM programs can open doors to opportunities for both personal and professional growth. This week Ahlstrom and the Wisconsin Paper Council partnered to award the Women in Forest Products Scholarship to Carissa Ashman. The scholarship aims to support young women pursuing careers in the forest products and paper industries and to increase female representation in these fields. Carissa was also recognized with a Certificate of Achievement from the Office of Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers for being the first recipient of the scholarship award. Carissa, who comes from generations of papermakers and has participated in STEM education in high school, hopes to impact the forest products and paper industries through her continued studies in Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Congratulations Carissa! 💜🎉
