  • Two of the Compendium member states have recently seen highly relevant changes in their national cultural policy development: #Austria and #Estonia. In Austria, the Ministry of Art, Culture, Public Service, and Sport has published the "Federal Guidelines for Cultural Policy," outlining eight key fields of action and 20 specific guidelines to guide the country's cultural policy, emphasizing areas such as innovation, fairness, internationalization, and sustainability. In Estonia, the Cultural Endowment introduced creative work fees in May 2024 to provide artists with social and health insurance, enabling them to focus on specific creative activities while receiving appropriate compensation and addressing the lack of social guarantees for freelance artists. • Today we are releasing two new Cultural Policy Short Profiles in their native language. The Short Profile for Spain is now available in Spanish and the Maltese profile can now be read in Maltese. These two profiles add to our growing collection of Cultural Policy Short Profiles that are available in their native language(s), which brings the number of native language profiles to eleven. Our aim is to make cultural policy information more widely available, especially to people who are not fluent in English. Thanks to Arts Council Malta for providing the Maltese translation and to Anna Villarroya and Pedro Perez Rothstein for proofreading the Spanish profile!
