Arm and ASML are arguably the two most important tech companies in Europe. Arm is trading at a massive premium to all other public semis companies, as this Dealroom.co chart shows. Now, The Information also noticed this and says it's overpriced relative to Nvidia. Some of Arm's premium is due to Softbank still owning 90%, so supply of the stock is constrained. But that still means 10% float = $13 billion of its $130B market cap. Here's what makes Arm still a must-own stock for some tech investors, as an integral part of tech's next 10-20 years: 1. We are entering an age where hardware is again becoming more important, relative to software 2. As chips become more complex systems, its licensing fees also become more lucrative (for high-end processors with more than 100 cores, Arm now earns over $100 per chip, a significant increase from earlier royalties which were only cents per chip) 3. AI is coming to more mobile phones, benefiting Arm 4. More Arm-based chips make their way into PCs, following Apple's successful M-series example 5. Amazon, Microsoft and Google increasingly using their own Arm-based chips replacing Intel 6. Forward-looking, both NVIDIA and Arm are projected to grow ±20-25% YoY (whereas The Information compares Arm against latest Nvidia revenues more than doubling in revent quarters which is far less favorable to Arm) 7. Building its own AI chips in Israel, to compete with Nvidia Did I miss anything?

🕸️🚀 Centralized vs. decentralized tech ecosystems. The Bay Area is the top tech hub in the world, but the US is still one of the most decentralized tech ecosystems by venture capital distribution. The Bay Area raises 32% of US venture capital. London, Paris, Dublin and Tel Aviv all raise more than two thirds of their of national VC. The US is also one of the few countries where the biggest tech hub is not the capital city, along with Israel (Tel Aviv), Italy (Milan), Switzerland (Geneva), India (Bengaluru), Spain (Barcelona) and Canada (Toronto). #startups #techecosystems #benchmarking #decentralised #venturecapital
