Then, this recently published paper by QIA researchers in the Università degli Studi di Parma will be a good read for you!   Titled "A Design Framework for the Simulation of Distributed Quantum Computing", this paper presents a design framework for DQC simulation and discusses two metrics for evaluating how well job scheduling methods utilize quantum processing units and #quantumnetworks.   The paper used an example to compare two different scheduling strategies using these metrics, and noted that there is a need for new, DQC-specific scheduling algorithms.   DQC is one of the key use cases of the #quantuminternet, and this research is addressing a critical challenge of efficiently managing DQC resources across quantum networks.   Read the paper here: https://lnkd.in/eC3zEe_v Authors: Davide Ferrari and Michele Amoretti

🔎 Check this out! QIA members from Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen published a paper on the behavior of single-photon sources, a critical component in #quantumnetworks. 👉 In this QIA-supported research, the authors developed a full multimode description to characterize the light from a spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) source across three scenarios: when driven by an infinitely short pulse, a Gaussian pulse with varying width, and continuously. ℹ This study then describes how these sources perform under different conditions. 🔎 Check out this latest QIA-supported paper from Laboratoire Kastler Brossel - LKB on a novel method to improve the accuracy of Bell-state measurements (BSMs) in optical quantum information processing—a critical process in #quantumcommunication and #quantumcomputing. In this paper, researchers presented a hybrid approach that "significantly [enhances] the quantum teleportation and entanglement-swapping fidelities". Improving the fidelity of Bell-state measurements enhances the reliability and scalability of #quantumnetworks and interconnects. ICYMI: QIA researchers at ICFO led by our Long Distance Team lead Hugues de Riedmatten recently published a paper presenting advancements in quantum memory technology, specifically using a solid-state approach. Titled "Efficient cavity-assisted storage of photonic qubits in a solid-state quantum memory", this study reported a record storage efficiency for single-photon-level light signals and for photonic qubits, with 95% fidelity, using a cavity-enhanced solid-state quantum memory. Storing quantum information efficiently and accurately is essential for the realisation of a #quantuminternet. 👀 LOOK: QIA Partner AQT Alpine Quantum Technologies in the recently held Q2B24 TOKYO... taking the next steps in the extensive Japanese quantum ecosystem! AQT showcased their world-leading trapped ions 19-inch rack-mounted quantum computer to the Q2B24 TOKYO visitors, and highlighted its diverse applications and potential impact across industries. With the "The Roadmap to Quantum Value", Q2B24 TOKYO ran from 24th to 25th of July and welcomed over 450 attendees interested in three #quantumtechnology fields—computing, sensing and timing, and communications and security. AQT brings into QIA its expertise in building integrated ion trap systems. Together with the University of Innsbruck, they are responsible for the development of a data center compatible networked ion trap node. After Tokyo, AQT's next stop is Atlanta in November for the SC24, an international conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis.
