The ECPG is a network of motivated young pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists within FIP. The group was officially established in 2001, but early career pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists have been a part of FIP for many years. Our objectives are to facilitate connections and networking so that new ideas can be shared, and to open doors to information and new possibilities. The mission of ECPG is to promote the goals of FIP by encouraging the early career members of the Federation to participate in FIP projects and activities. In so doing, ECPG aims to develop individuals who can act as agents of positive change at local, national, and international levels, both in the profession and in society. ECPG’s goal is to connect our members and foster leadership within FIP’s eight different sections that focus on pharmacy practice, and the different special interest groups (SIGs) that focus on pharmaceutical sciences. Many of our ECPG members are already active in FIP’s Boards, sections and special interest groups. We also aim to support early career pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists from around the globe who have limited resources either for professional organisation involvement or for their own research

Maya's Pharmacy Adventure! 📚 Dr Renly Lim from Australia, a Past President of FIP Early Career Pharmaceutical Group, has published a children’s picture book titled "Maya’s Pharmacy Adventure". This initiative aims to enhance children’s understanding of pharmacy and medicine safety. “As both a pharmacist and a mother, I’ve always wanted to share my knowledge on pharmacy and medication use with children. Writing this book is a dream come true, because I get to share my passion while enjoying reading the book with my daughter. Thank you, International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), for supporting this initiative!”- Dr Lim This book aims to support the FIP Foundation for Education and Research by donating the royalties generated from its sale. The FIP Foundation promotes the education and research of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, and the expanding role of pharmacists in charitable projects to further global health. Colchicine is a medication that is used in the treatment of gout flares (attacks) and it is also indicated for prophylaxis of gout attacks. Gout is a medical condition that is caused by having too much uric acid in the blood. The uric acid precipitates as hard uric acid crystals in the joints, and this results in pain sensation & inflammation. Colchicine works by lessening the uric acid crystals build up and reducing inflammation in the affected joints. Colchicine is also used in the treatment of familial Mediterranean fever and it is also indicated to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction.
