A major milestone for Delft University of Technology today - together we've conducted our 100,000th summative assessment! 🎉 This incredible achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of our educators, staff, the Grasple - Open Education team and TU Delft | PRIME and celebrates the strength of the cooperation between TU Delft and Grasple as a private social enterprise. Our journey together has been remarkable, and it’s fascinating to look back on how far we’ve come. Here’s a timeline of our summative assessment evolution: • 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬: The initial summative tests, marking the first of the 100,000 assessments. • 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭 (𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱): Transition to online distance assessments using RPNow and Grasple due to the pandemic. • 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭: Returned to paper-based assessments Post-Covid. • 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹/𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮: Introduction of first trials with Grasple on campus. • 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮: First significant BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) test pilot on-campus, assessing 1400 students in a single week across five subjects, including Calculus and Linear Algebra with Schoolyear. • 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮: Early experiments with on-campus digital exams. • 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯: Successful pilot year for on-campus digital exams. • 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰: Completion of the pilot phase and official start of on-campus digital exams. Big thank you at this point to Dennis den Ouden-van der Horst, Ilse Bakker, Tom Vroegrijk, the TU Delft | PRIME team, Thijs Gillebaart, Eric Bouwers, Sofie Bastiaansen and Schoolyear - Safe Exam Workspace To mark this occasion, here are three valuable tips on summative assessments: 𝟭. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗞𝗲𝘆: Ensure your assessments align with your learning objectives and course content. Consistency helps in accurately measuring student learning and progress. 𝟮. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Ambiguity can lead to confusion and affect student performance. Clear, concise instructions ensure students understand what is expected of them. 𝟯. 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗺𝘀: Use the insights gained from summative assessments to improve your teaching strategies and course content. Feedback loops are essential for continuous improvement. A huge thank you to everyone involved in reaching this milestone. Here’s to many more achievements and continuous growth in our academic journey! 🌟 #STEMEducation #TUDelft #SummativeAssessment #edtech #educationinnovation

Variations on implementing Blended Learning, by Educators for Educators Explore in our newest blog how to implement Blended Learning techniques! Based on stories of Tugce Akkaya from Delft University of Technology and Pieter Roos from University of Twente, we identified the 4 key factors to keep in mind: 🧭 Have a Clear Objective: Set clear goals in your course, as they will help to achieve better results 🤝 Collaborate with Colleagues: Sharing experiences within your network can provide valuable insights, and helps avoiding “reinventing the wheel” 🧑🎓 Involve Your Students: Get feedback from your students at various stages of the course, to improve and meet their educational needs best 🧩 Keep It Simple: Keep in mind that one tool will not be the solution for all problems. Be mindful how much you are using a certain learning tool in your course 🔍If you want to read more on the topic, find the full article here: https://lnkd.in/d7tUfm9G #Grasple #OER #BlendedLearning #GraspleBlogPost #BlogPost #EducatorsCommunity #Webinar #EdTech #HigherEducation #GraspleCommunity
