My research focuses on one of the big questions in personality psychology: why do our personalities change across the lifespan? I particularly focus on adult personality development in the context of close relationships and major life events (e.g., divorce, becoming a parent). I always try to find the best method to answer my research questions, using longitudinal data analysis in Mplus and R (e.g., propensity score matching, piecewise growth modeling, response surface analysis). I am strongly interested in open and reproducible research practices and apply this in my own research and teaching. At Tilburg University I am the coordinator of the Master track Klinische Kinder- en Jeugdpsychologie and I coordinate and teach the course Persoonlijkheidspsychologie to first-year psychology bachelor students. I am involved as a supervisor in the Master Positive Psychology and Well-being and the Research Master Individual Differences and Assessment.
