About Your Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic People Advisor to join our vibrant team, which includes our Head of People, People Operations Specialist, Office Manager, and a temporary Recruiter. Together, we are dedicated to fostering a positive and productive workplace where everyone can thrive.

Here's The Challenge

As our People Advisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting managers and employees alike. Your expertise in Dutch employment laws and company policies will be key in ensuring compliance and maintaining a harmonious work environment. As you are the go-to person for managers, you guide them through the sick leave processes, advise on performance management, resolve employee relations issues, and lead the development and implementation of the guidelines and processes of the employee handbook. You make them simple, effective and attractive. Additionally, you will lead training sessions for managers and collaborate with the People team to enhance employee engagement and wellbeing programs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Employee Case Guidance Provide expert advice to managers on employee-related cases, ensuring compliance with company policies and Dutch employment laws.
  • Sick Leave Management Oversee the sick leave process, including documentation, tracking, and communication with employees, managers, and Arbo service.
  • Performance Management Advise managers on conducting performance reviews, feedback sessions, and developing employee growth plans.
  • Employee Relations Assist in resolving employee relations issues by conducting investigations and recommending appropriate actions.
  • HR Policy Implementation Support the roll-out and communication of HR policies and procedures throughout the organization.
  • Record Keeping Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and case documentation together with the People Operations Specialist.
  • Training Conduct training sessions for managers on HR best practices and legal requirements.
  • Employee Engagement Collaborate with the People team to develop and enhance employee engagement and wellness programs.
  • HR Metrics Monitor and report on HR metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Wellbeing Program Management Actively manage the employee wellbeing program.

Your profile

  • Empathetic & Approachable You understand the importance of listening and providing support to both managers and employees and find the best way forward for both.
  • Detail-Oriented Accurate documentation and adherence to legal requirements are second nature to you.
  • Proactive & Solution-Focused You anticipate issues before they arise and come up with effective solutions.
  • Team Player Collaboration is key, and you thrive in a team environment.

Your Skills And Experiences

  • HR Expertise Good knowledge of Dutch employment laws and HR best practices, by having at least two experience as a People Advisor.
  • Communication Skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Organizational Skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with ease.
  • Problem-Solving Demonstrated ability to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Training & Development A love for conducting training sessions for managers.
  • Analytical Skills Proficiency in monitoring and reporting HR metrics.
  • Efficiency Skills You LOVE working efficiently, try to automate whatever can be automated, and are always eager to challenge yourself and the team to work most effectively.

  • Relocation Support - Fairphone will reimburse the cost of a one-way train (if applicable) ticket to the Netherlands, arrange an appointment at the municipality and provide all the necessary information so that your arrival and settlement in the Netherlands will be smooth and pleasant!
  • Public transport allowance – we fully cover your 2nd class commute from your home to the office.
  • AND Bike allowance – we support you with a bike purchase of up to €300, and you’ll have a yearly repair budget of up to €80, too!
