We couldn't agree more on many of the points made by Peter Green on The Fish Site ... 😊 👏 One additional factor is the availability of scaling cultivation technology allowing for economies of scale & predictability in volumes and prices. That's what we at Arctic Seaweed have been focusing on since 2016. Let us know if you are interested in having a chat about our Seaweed as a Service (SaaS) concept and get access to cultivation technology helping you to scale. 😊 #seaweed #cultivation #sustainability #food #biostimulants #regenerative #ocean #oceanfarming #algae #technology #seaweedasaservice #saas
I sat down with the brilliant Rob Fletcher from The Fish Site to discuss algae tech, The Paxtier Report, and my journey in bio. Here's what we talked about: - My introduction to algae - Trends in the sector - Setting the stage for growth - The investment landscape - Fostering collaboration and supporting great teams in the space - Plus much more... Are #investors looking into the right place? That's a title of an article published on The Fish Site. Phyconomy and Steven Hermans have looked into where investments in the seaweed industry went to between 2020 - 2022. Around 80% were invested into the application side of the value chain (e.g. #biorefinery, #b2c #consumerproducts , #packaging or #plastic replacements). Only about 6% went into the production side of the value chain from seeding to distribution. Question is: Who is going to produce all the seaweed if all of these applications are scaling the way they are planning to? We at Arctic Seaweed AS might have an answer to that. 😎 OCEANIUM Sway Notpla 12 Tides BettaFish LOLIWARE Inc. New #seaweed publication out now! Seaweed is seen as a promising future source of biomass, and signifcant eforts are taken to upscale seaweed aquaculture production in Europe. Despite regulatory frameworks for food safety, environmental safety, and occupational health and safety applicable to seaweed production, a major barrier to upscaling production is the lack of commonly accepted, uniform protocols for safety assessment. A prototype version of the generic protocol was evaluated in a practical setting in Norway. Results show that a consistent, structured approach to safety makes it possible to identify hazards and prioritize and collect data on key hazards. The protocol succeeded in bringing focus to data collection, putting efort into the analysis of hazards considered most relevant in a practical setting. Reinier (R.W.) "Seaweed production will more than double from 32 Mt in 2020 to 71 Mt in 2050" For this to happen, we need cultivation technology that can scale and produce seaweed in a cost-efficient way. At Arctic Seaweed we have been developing our seaweed cultivation platform to allow us and our partners to do just that: maximize volumes. If you are interested in getting access to our technology platform through our Seaweed as a Service (SaaS) partnership, reach out to us. 😎 We have already farms installed in #Bergen, #Ålesund and #Greenland. Ocean's Future to 2050: Seafood Forecast is now available 🐟🌊 This is our most likely future, providing an objective view of how the global seafood system will develop. Highlights are: 🐟 Marine aquaculture of finfish will triple to meet the growing demand. 🐛 Aquaculture feed supplies will diversify further, reducing the dependence on marine and agriculture-based ingredients. 🌱 Seaweed production will more than double, from 32 Mt in 2020 to 71 Mt in 2050. Last month we finished our deployment season on our inhouse farms and on our SaaS partner farms in #greenland and #ålesund and it was a year of breaking records showing that scaling volumes is possible through our direct seeding technology. Here are some key stats for the deployment of 1 Arctic Seaweed cultivation module (containing up to 25kms seeded lines) Fastest Deployment Time: 2 hours (10 hour work day = 5 modules = up to 80 kms) Average Deployment Time (across 3 farming locations: 3 hours (10 hour work day = 3,5 modules = up to 50 kms) Royal Greenland Nordi Ocean Simply Blue Group #seaweed #cultivation #sustainability #food #biostimulants #regenerative #ocean #oceanfarming #algae #technology #seaweedasaservice #saas
At Arctic Seaweed our vision is to enable a global sustainable seaweed industry. As we understand that we cannot achieve this by ourselves, we have created our Seaweed as a Service (SaaS) concept to enable companies by giving them access to our end2end farming cultivation platform running on fully automated and mechanized direct seeding and harvesting. We are proud to have farms already installed with our partners Royal Greenland in Greenland, Nordi Ocean in Ålesund and soon with Simply Blue Group in Ireland. Exciting Visit to the Arctic Seaweed Farm Norway! I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Arctic Seaweed Farm, where I witnessed first-hand their direct seeding technology and speedy deployment. Arctic Seaweed is on the forefront of sustainable aquaculture practices, and their innovative approach to seaweed cultivation is very impressive. Through direct seeding, and modular rigs they have the ability to transform the industry and lead the transition to offshore cultivation. It was inspiring to see how various members of the local community such as; fishermen, account executives, biologists, PHD students, restaurateurs and dedicated team members collaborated to make a big impact on the running of the operation. I look forward to bringing this technology and innovation to Irish waters in the near future. Arctic Seaweed AS Simply Blue Group

Team NORDI together with our partner Arctic Seaweed has finalized our first deployment with use of direct seeding technology at our Seaweed farm located in Giske municipality outside of Aalesund. 4 days from seeds arriving to everthing deployed!!👊🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Arctic Seaweed is on the forefront of sustainable aquaculture practices, and their innovative approach to seaweed cultivation is very impressive. Through direct seeding, and modular rigs we have the ability to transform and revolutionize the seaweed cultivation industry. NORDI has a unique opportunity to revolutionise farming of Low Trophic Aquaculture (LTA) along the northwest coast of Norway. NORDI is look forward to bringing this technology and innovation to more of our locations in our region. A region with invaluable coastal ecosystems and marine resources, and a rich tradition of marine and maritime value creation, our innovative business seeks to address the sustainable use of ecosystem resources. Currently we are looking for partners, either Norwegian companies or organisations, that would like to jointly invest with us to setup a sustainable multi-trophic aquaculture industry in Norway.
