EU H2020 project envisions delivering scalable, sustainable and viable energy-positive and zero-carbon GBNs.
Om oss
The PROBONO project envisions establishing a people-focused European construction industry, by working in harmony with the broader community of stakeholders, to deliver scalable, sustainable, and viable energy-positive and zero-carbon Green Buildings and Neighbourhoods (GBN). The objective of the project is to produce validated solutions for the design, construction, and operation of zero-emission and positive-energy buildings in sustainable green neighbourhoods. For achieving this vision and objective, PRO BONO will deliver five GBN Transition Acceleration Enablers deployed in six high-impact and people-focused Living Labs (LLs) across six EU states. These GBN Living Labs will include two municipality-driven large-scale demonstrators (Madrid and Dublin) and four living labs representing business/owner promoters of the GBN transition (Porto, Brussels, Aarhus, Prague). The project receives funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme under Grant Agreement No 101037075.

"The greenest energy is the energy we don’t use and therefore don’t have to produce." 💡 #Saveitforlater! 🌍 This is the mantra of ProbonoH2020 partner VisBlue – the Danish flow battery manufacturer, who’s committed to bringing green energy storage technologies to market that offer flexibility, stability, and security to an electrified green society. For a world in balance. 🌱⚡ As a partner of ProbonoH2020, VisBlue will be delivering two #VisFLOW60 batteries to #CampusViborg, which is one of the two #Aarhus Living Lab sites. 🔋🏫 Here, the #flowbatteries will be connected to the site’s solar panel park to store excess power and thus maximize its energy. ☀️🔋 By saving the #greenenergy for later, @Campus Viborg will not only reduce their energy bill, but also bring down #CO2 and improve their #environmental footprint. ⬇️🌿 #PROBONO #GreenBuildingNeighbourhood #H2020 Find the LCA, here: https://lnkd.in/dBHRSxrZ Aarhus University

ProbonoH2020 is thrilled to have VisBlue as a partner! 🚀 “Working together across @EU to stimulate the transition to #netZERO and energy-positive buildings and neighborhoods, that is indeed meaningful.” - Søren Bødker, CEO at VisBlue. 💡 Our initial focus aligns perfectly with VisBlue’s DNA: 🏙️ Renovating existing urban buildings and locations in a resource and energy-efficient way. 🔧 Applying technology, business, and socio-economic innovations to stimulate a transition to net-zero and energy-positive buildings. 🌱 Building thriving and sustainable communities. “Therefore, it is a privilege to engage with partners such as COWI and Aarhus University to co-create a future-proof roadmap for #Campus2.0 that approaches not only one part of sustainability but all three, being Environmental, Social, and Governance #ESG.” - Søren Bødker. 🔋 VisBlue will be delivering two #flowbatteries to #Campus2.0 to store excess power from the new 10ha solar panels that are being installed independently of the PROBONO project. With an LCA showing a durability of +20 years and a recycling rate of 99%, the installation of #flowbatteries will help Campus2.0 reduce their CO2 and environmental footprint and life cycle costs. 🌍 “Technological advancements such as energy storage in #flowbatteries are key enablers to the green transition, not only for #Campus2.0 but for society at large. However, it’s only a part of the whole. To succeed, we need to work together to incorporate these technologies into the larger system; and that’s what sets the holistic and collaborative approach of @PROBONO apart from other projects.” - Søren Bødker. 📖 Read more 👇 https://lnkd.in/drZjejKg

Exciting News! 🌍🚀 At PROBONO, we've developed a pioneering drone-based method to map embedded CO₂ in existing buildings. By using drones and the NavVis VLX scanner, we're able to precisely measure and quantify the CO₂ stored in construction materials at Campus Viborg, part of the Aarhus Living Lab. This innovation helps predict and avoid new emissions by supporting the preservation or upcycling of existing materials, contributing to more sustainable building practices. 🌱♻️ Read more about how we're leading the way in sustainable construction and our latest advancements! 👇 https://lnkd.in/dtPtKVE4 #Sustainability #GreenBuildings #Innovation #DroneTechnology #CO2Mapping #PROBONO #AarhusLivingLab #CircularEconomy #ClimateAction #PROBONOH2020 #GBN COWI Aarhus University
