UTC 2023 - Securing Global Energy We want to ensure our relevance in the new energy domain. Subsea technology has for decades provided robust, compact and energy efficient solutions to the Oil and Gas industry. Our professionals are enthusiastic about sharing experience and adapting to the future energy needs UTC is by many considered to be the best underwater technology conference world wide. Here, new contacts are created, knowledge is shared, and important relations and network cultivated. UTC is where innovation is introduced and where the spark for further cooperation and new technology solutions is lit. We hereby invite you to participate and make UTC an even greater subsea event! The UTC is hosted jointly by the Underwater Technology Foundation (UTF) and GCE Ocean Technology in close cooperation with it's hosting partners SPE Bergen and FFU.

  • The final day of UTC 2024 has drawn to a close, leaving us inspired and excited about the future of underwater technology. The student presentations, industry giants sharing insights, exhibitions, and the much-anticipated Student Award certainly made waves! 🌊   Petrobras, Equinor and Vår Energi highlighted their main objectives for the years to come. The EXPO was a hive of activity, buzzing with exchanges in ideas and exploration of the latest underwater technologies. And the technical sessions throughout the day delved into a variety of topics.   A BIG congratulations to Jonathan Blomberg and Elsa T. for leaving the conference with the UTC Student Award! Their creativity and hard work symbolize the spirit of innovation that UTC strives to nurture. We wish them the very best in their promising careers, knowing the industry are in good hands 👏   Day 2 was a fitting conclusion of a remarkable Underwater Technology Conference.   • 🎓🌍 Student presentations – The next generation of the industry. This morning, we were treated to an invigorating hat-trick of student presentations, showcasing their research and forward-thinking solutions.   Highlights include: ▪ Martin Sørensen and Halvor Snersrud Gustad's advancements in operational analysis using Python, OrcaFlex, and LaTeX. ▪ Dirk Hops' innovative presentation on foldable docking cones for AUVs. ▪ Elsa T. and Jonathan Blomberg's exploration of sustainable subsea cooling for offshore wind.   These young minds have demonstrated exceptional technical prowess, together with a deep commitment to sustainability and efficiency.   • 🌟 Congratulations to Saipem and Equinor who won the UTC Award for their world record-breaking underwater drone 🌟   In a groundbreaking achievement for subsea technology, Saipem and Equinor have been awarded the Underwater Technology Conference Award of 2024. The award recognizes their remarkable success with the Hydrone-R underwater drone, which set a world record by operating continuously for 165 days at a depth of 330 meters in the Norwegian Sea.   The UTC Award, presented annually, honours outstanding contributions and innovations in underwater technology. It is designed to recognize, celebrate and showcase the many outstanding achievements within the global industry. Trond Eriksen, Project Leader representing Equinor, and Donato Napoletano, Project Manager representing Saipem, are being especially recognised as key players in this project. Their Hydrone-R project not only sets new records, but also paves the way for future advancements in underwater operations.
