Frank Bruni: Keith McNally is a Horrible Man

Over in San Francisco, former Times critic Frank Bruni has been promoting his memoir at various events and bookstores, and during a q&a last night, he had this to say about notorious New York restaurateur Keith McNally: "I do not go to Keith McNally restaurants anymore. I would have loved to have given Minetta Tavern a horrible review, because McNally is a horrible man." (He ended up giving the restaurant three stars.) Why's Bruni so pissed? This question was related to McNally's penchant for attacking critics in the press. Before he called Adam Platt bald and overweight as a reaction to a bad Pulino's review, the restaurateur accused Frank Bruni of being sexist.

Bruni also said, of eating live shrimp at Copenhagen restaurant Noma: "I’m an adventurous eater, but I’ve never put something still moving in my mouth "
