QUEEN’S AILING SIS HOSPITALIZED

Britain’s Princess Margaret was sent to the hospital yesterday – a week after the royal family insisted she was on the mend from a possible stroke.

The younger sister of Queen Elizabeth is suffering from “severe loss of appetite” and was hospitalized so doctors can closely monitor her condition, Buckingham Palace said.

The 70-year-old princess has been in poor health for months, and doctors said last week that she might have suffered an undetected stroke, similar to one she suffered in 1998.

They also said her condition was stable and they expected enough improvement for her to carry out some public duties in the coming months.

“However, this improvement has not been maintained and her condition remains a cause for concern,” the palace said.

Margaret was driven from the royal family’s Sandringham estate to a London hospital yesterday.
