A 16-year-old Westchester boy who preys on Asian women is charged with a brutal rape and robbery attack on the Lower East Side – and remains a suspect in four similar crimes, police said.
Benjamin Carter of Mount Vernon was arrested in front of his home Thursday and charged with an attack the day before on a woman who was raped, robbed and sodomized inside a dry-cleaning business. Quick work by forensic and fingerprint experts led to Carter’s arrest, police said.
He was released from Spofford Juvenile Facility in June after serving 14 months for a pair of knife-point robberies.Cops believe other Asian women may have been victimized by Carter, and ask that anyone with information call detectives at 1-800-577-TIPS.
