The ex-super of a Midtown office building yesterday lost a bid to squeeze out of charges that he put hidden cameras in women’s rooms.
Zdenko Cesalka’s lawyer argued that under the law, only a manager or owner can be found guilty of installing hidden cameras.
And Cesalka, 33, of Iselin, N.J., was neither when he was arrested July 3 – he was a super, maintained the lawyer
But Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Raymond Guzman brushed aside the claim: “As superintendent, the defendant qualifies as a manager.”
Cesalka faces 30 days in jail and a $600 fine on charges of unlawfully installing cameras in two women’s rooms of 597 Fifth Ave.
Cops say he ran cables from the cameras to monitors in a nearby building where he was the super.
