NYPD BOSS ‘PROMOTES’ A SAFER CITY

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly yesterday presided at promotion ceremonies yesterday for 157 civilians and cops – including two detectives assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force who served overseas.

“We have honed our contingency planning . . . and have taken critical steps to equip our people with the tools they need to do their jobs and protect themselves,” Kelly said.

Among those honored were two detectives promoted to second-grade, both of whom had stints in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen.

The names were not made available to the public due to the sensitivity of their task-force work abroad.
