While a non-celeb repeat bride might opt for shorter dresses or pant suits, “the etiquette for what a celebrity and a regular woman might wear are two different things,” says van der Meer.
“Jennifer’s somebody who likes dressing sexy. She wears revealing, low-cut gowns and is very comfortable with the attention that comes along with wearing them.
“So she can get away with wearing a dress a first-time bride might wear,” van der Meer says, pointing out that last year, Lopez wore a very traditional Valentino gown to marry hubby No. 2, Cris Judd.
Whatever gown J. Lo chooses, get ready to expect the unexpected: “She surprised a lot of us just with the engagement!”
