MANHATTAN

* A security guard was shot at a Harlem apartment complex yesterday. An unidentified assailant approached the 37-year-old man on the second floor of a building in which he works, pulled a gun and shot him in the back, police said. The gunman fled. The victim was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in stable condition.

* A thief walked into a Midtown bank yesterday, slipped a note demanding money to a teller and escaped with cash, police said. The robbery occurred about 2 p.m. at the HSBC branch on Sixth Avenue near West 46th Street.

* Cops yesterday arrested two men on stolen property charges after finding hocked merchandise in an Inwood apartment. Jose Vasquez, 33, and Isaac Ruiz, 19, also were charged with trademark counterfeiting Thursday after cops executed a search warrant at 4489 Broadway. Police arrested the two suspects and recovered an undetermined amount of stolen name-brand clothing, perfumes and watches.

* A man who was shot in the face on an East Harlem street Tuesday has died, and cops are hunting for the killer. An unidentified assailant shot Freddie Paez, 18, during a dispute on Second Avenue near East 116th Street around 4 p.m. Paez was taken to Metropolitan Hospital, where he died on Thursday.

THE BRONX

* A 13-year-old boy was arrested on assault charges yesterday for allegedly beating two boys in Throgs Neck, and cops are searching for another assailant. The suspect, whose name was not released because of his age, and another teen approached the boys, ages 6 and 12, on Harding Avenue and Throgs Neck Boulevard around 3 p.m. Thursday. They allegedly bashed the boys in the face and yelled anti-Hispanic insults at them. The victims were taken to Montefiore Hospital, where the 6-year-old was treated and released and his companion was listed in stable condition.

* A man was arrested and charged with murder yesterday in connection with a fatal shooting more than twoyears ago in East Tremont, police said. In November 2000, Juan Andino, 25, accosted Jose Millares, 28, on East 176th Street around 4 a.m. and shot him three times in the torso during an argument, cops said. Millares was taken to Jacobi Hospital, where he died from his injuries the following month.

QUEENS

* A 17-year-old girl was killed and three other people were injured yesterday when their vehicles collided in Queens Village, police said. The girl was ejected from a 2000 Dodge minivan when it crashed into a Lincoln Town Car on the northbound side of the Van Wyck Expressway at the Union Turnpike exit around 1 a.m. She later was pronounced dead at Parkway Hospital. The 34-year-old driver of the minivan and two other passengers, ages 17 and 18, were taken to Booth Memorial and Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.

* A man was found stabbed to death on a Rosedale street yesterday, police said. The 41-year-old man was stabbed in his throat, chest and stomach before being discovered in front of 146-18 Huxley Ave. around 9:30 a.m.

BROOKLYN

* A 13-year-old girl told police three men raped and sodomized her at a Flatbush housing project, cops said yesterday. The alleged incident occurred last Monday at the Glenwood Houses on Farragut Road at 4:30 p.m. The three assailants forced the girl to the roof of a building, attacked her and fled the scene. The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition.

* A 12-year-old boy was struck and injured by a school bus yesterday when he accidentally fell onto Kings Highway while play fighting with other youths, police said. The accident occurred about 3 p.m. while the youths were on the center medium of the thoroughfare waiting for a red light to change at Church Avenue in East Flatbush. The boy suffered head injuries and was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. The bus stopped, and no arrests were made and no summonses were issued.
