A 27 year-old man was gunned down on a busy Chinatown street last night, police said.

The unidentified victim was shot twice in the chest in front of 30 Market St. around 9:15 p.m. He was taken to NYU Downtown Hospital, where he was pronounced dead 30 minutes later, cops said.

The motive for the crime and the identity of the shooter were unclear last night.

Two teenagers were charged with murder in the death of a 90-year-old woman who suffered a fractured hip during an attempted robbery on the Upper East Side last year, authorities said yesterday.

The Manhattan DA’s Office handed down the indictment Thursday against the 18-year-old suspects, who were originally charged with assault and attempted robbery.

In July 2002, two Bronx detectives spotted Paul Bueford, then 17, approaching Elisabeth Zindl from behind on 90th Street between Third and Lexington Avenues around 11:30 p.m., sources said.

Bueford allegedly threw her to the ground, causing her hip to fracture.

He then tried to snatch her handbag, but didn’t get it, cops said.

His lookout, William Acosta, also 17, was circling around on a bicycle about 10 feet away when he noticed the detectives, sources said.

Both suspects tried to flee, but were quickly apprehended by the officers.

Zindl was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she died from her injures in December 2002.

In April 2003, the medical examiner declared her death a homicide.

A man found hanging from a tree near the Central Park Conservatory pond Thursday has died, police said yesterday.

The unidentified man, in his 30s, was discovered unconscious in the park near East 105th Street around 2:30 p.m.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died.

A man was shot in the left foot at a Harlem apartment building early yesterday, police said.

Cops were called to a Harlem River Drive address around 12:30 a.m. and found the wounded 31-year-old man in front of an apartment building.

He was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.

A man shot twice in East Harlem Wednesday has died, and cops are searching for the killer.

Kaleek Diaz, 27, was walking down East 123rd Street around 9:30 p.m. when a dark-colored car pulled up and gunshots rang out from inside the vehicle, cops said.

Diaz, of Maspeth, Queens, was hit in the back and buttocks, police said. The car drove away.

The victim was taken to Metropolitan Hospital, where he died Thursday.

Queens

Two men were shot in separate incidents in the same Corona apartment building Thursday, police said yesterday.

A 30-year-old man was shot in his forearm after being accosted by an assailant in the building at 98-30 57th Ave. around 8:30 p.m.

Minutes later, the same suspect shot a 33-year-old man in the chest at the same location.

The suspect, whose motive was not known, fled.

The first victim drove himself to St. John’s Hospital, where he was released after treatment.

The second victim was taken to Elmhurst General Hospital in stable condition.

Brooklyn

A Brooklyn South Narcotics detective has been suspended for failing to safeguard a drug suspect who slipped out of her handcuffs and fled police custody.

Detective Karan Young was suspended Thursday after Jackie Diaz, 34, escaped from police as she was being led into the 78th Precinct station house around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, cops said.

Police recaptured Diaz about 45 minutes later on Bond Street in downtown Brooklyn.

A suspect was ordered held without bail yesterday in Wednesday’s fatal shooting of a man who pleaded for his life moments before he was silenced, authorities said.

Marlon Emmanuel, 23, chased down Roger Mills, 24, and drew a .357 caliber gun in front of an apartment building at 1163 President St. around 11:30 p.m., cops said.

He allegedly shot Mills, who fell to the ground as Emmanuel stood over him.

As Mills pleaded for his life, Emmanuel shot him several more times, sources said.

Police responded to the scene and arrested Emmanuel a block away after a brief foot chase. He was charged with murder and weapons possession.

Investigators are questioning witnesses.

Bronx

A man was busted after struggling with a cop who spotted him with three vials suspected of containing crack cocaine, authorities said yesterday.

A 43rd Precinct officer on patrol observed Jamil Fields, 41, swapping cash for small objects with a pedestrian on East Tremont Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, police said.

The cop also spotted three bags of crack cocaine taped to Fields’ jacket. The suspect tried to flee from the officer and flailed his arms to avoid being handcuffed, police said.

Fields was charged with resisting arrest and drug possession.
